Played some more KoFXIII today and beat some dude online with Yuri in his team. Oh my god I didn't realize they brought back the clothes ripping from the old games (you beat Yuri with a special and as she flies back during the KO animation her top rips off.)

IIRC everybody in Art of Fighting had ripping clothes upon defeat, but in the KoF games only King and Yuri had it. Then the did away with it in the late 90s/early 00s (I think) and now its back (but still only on King and Yuri.) Yuri is also super moe now and King is easily recognized as a women, as opposed to her days as a bouncer where she could actually pass as a man.

And Mai is worse than ever before because KoF XII was a horrible, horrible game and one of the popular catch phrases at the time was "no Mai, no buy" since Mai wasn't in the game (and so weren't a shit load of other characters. Read: horrible, horrible game.) I'm pretty sure SNK just collapsed to fan demands since they are perpetually on the brink of bankruptcy.

It's a fighting game. Of course people get beat up.

Just don't read too much into it.

it's not really the fighting that's the problem. i mean it's a fighting game they punch each other and there are tits. but it is just seriously creepy when you have a female character shirtless and beat up and unconscious on the ground. it's just... skeezy.

Pretty sure that's why they got rid of it before. No idea why they brought it back now in what might actually be the best KoF to date.
