Ring of Destruction, where are you? Hate how the instant you come out of the sewers for the first time, spawning everything on the overworld, some things start rolling. In the case of this ring, right into a very deep body of water. Murky depth fun time.

Holy shit, I quickly ascended the ranks of the Dark Assassins Guild and that guy made me a vampire. This is sweet, my night vision upgrade (which was already just about the only spell I ever used) I have the detect life spell along with it, which is great for getting sneak attacks.

I totally didn't even know Vampirism was a thing in this game.

I think that I'll work on joining the Thieve's guild some more next.

It was terrible in oblivion. You would die within 5 seconds in the sunlight.

Apparently the last time I tried playing Oblivion I installed a bunch of proletariats. So now they're influencing my game and I have no idea what they do.

Case in point, I entered the ruin of Culotte. Big empty ruin with a huge room full of coffins. Turns out one of the proletariats had placed a powerful dagger there in one of the coffins, and as soon as I claimed zombies spawned so thick they could have started a mosh pit. Died the first time from zombie swarm, then second time I found out the dagger had a 5 Fire Damage in 5 Feet on Strike enchantment, with 25,000 charge. So yeah, it was the key to surviving the onslaught. Incredibly fun too, since it one-shot the scripted zombies and sent them flying like rag dolls. And once I was done I proceeded to claim my Ayleid statue reward.

...Turns out the modder chose this ruin for his script for a reason. Picking up the statue in normal Oblivion spawns six regular zombies. Arrows did shit against them and I spent my time ducking in and out with that dagger. Got a Boss-level chest out of the deal though, a Base Ring of Heavy Armor and a shield with 8% Spell Reflection.

Well shit then...is there a way to get rid of it?

EDIT: Assuming I read this right, if you feed every night you won't take damage in the sun?
The final power of invisibility is very tempting...so I guess I'll try to get used to it.

Talk to either the vampire dude in the Dark Brotherhood, or go straight to the mage who's name I forget in the Arcane University.
The quest is pretty super long and complicated. ALSO, there's a chick who makes the cure, and her house is essentially always being trespassed on when you walk in. Always. Don't kill her if she attacks, just run away, hide, and wait 46 hours. Come back and shit'll be all cool.

I'd say just STAY a vampire, because feeding actually takes away the sun damage for 24 hours, but the point of being a vampire is to stay without feeding so you'll become stronger over time, and it's fuckall hard to get someone decently asleep and alone.

EDIT: on the invisibility note, there's a place where you can get a power that does the same thing, without the vampirism being bullshit.

So basically, just don't feed for a while until I reach top tier. And after that feed every night or wait/sleep out of the sun somewhere.

I guess I can get used to that.

lolnope

Feed, and you go back to square one. Any and all powers you gained are lost.

You're better off just finding Joan's Shadow or whatever it's called for invisiblities.

Came off like they wanted structure and sandbox at the same time.
ah, i'm not entirely sure what you mean, but i suppose storytelling in rockstar games has always been a little disjointed

Cause Vampirism and Werewolfism are super strong and not supposed to be power ups but a curse. So they have to have a huge drawback to the power you gain.

3:30 AM and I haven't even started the main quest in Oblivion yet. I have however busted a grave robber, infiltrated a pirate ship to kill its captain, dropped a moose head on some guy to kill him, raided a bandit cave (one had a glass warhammer), was overencumbered by said warhammer and so dragged it around manually for much of these adventures prior to getting a house, and accidentally shot an Imperial Forester because I mistook him for a bandit from a distance. Spent five minutes ducking in and out from behind a tree to avoid his arrows. Got a Silver Bow out of the deal though.
