the point

if it didn't do that, it'd be completely random with no sense of learning. what you figured out at one time would never help you again. that makes for bad game design generally. in puzzle games it's a special kind of sin.

That's nice. I had more fun with those games than Portal 1 and 2 therefore they are the better games as far as I'm concerned.

I realize puzzle games are supposed to build on themselves, but it just felt like too often I would walk into a room and say, "Oh boy, where have I seen this before?" As such, in a lot of the later levels I wasn't really solving the puzzle, just doing something I did in a previous room then doing something I did in another room. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed Portal 2, but I have no desire to ever go back and play it again.

Every game has its flaws man. You just gotta accept them and enjoy it for what it is.

big rigs is enjoyable in that "haha holy shit this is so bad" kinda way.

"truly awful" games are games that are simply too bad and forgettable to be enjoyed, but not stupid/campy/buggy enough to be enjoyed for its stupidity/campiness/bugs.

If I can enjoy a game despite it having flaws then I think that speaks higher to it than if a game never had any flaws to test my enjoyment.

As long as a flaw is not game breaking (technical aspect) or doesn't make a gigantic plot hole (story aspect), I can look past them. If the game is fun, I could really care less what other people think of the game.

If Megaman 2 is greater than the best game ever, wouldn't it then be the best game ever and greater than itself?

He forgot to add Pokemon to the equation. The best game < Megaman 2 < Pokemon. You would think it is still a paradox but Pokemon isn't counted as "The best game" since Pokemon isn't specific about one game, but all of them. Sone pokemon games suck but on average, I reckon Pokemon is the best.

Still, it's your opinion on what games you like.
