Re: General Game Gabbin'
It's the weirdest thing. Castlevania is the one game that doesn't make me want to throw it across the room after I die constantly. I still really enjoy it and even laugh at some of the stupid things I did.
Re: General Game Gabbin'
The one game like that for me is probably Mario Kart
I'm weird in that I swear like a sailor when I play, but I'm not actually mad.
Also, anyone here ever play Simpson's Road Rage? I've devised a method of play so devious I could get all million dollars in like, 4 plays.
Play Evergreen Terrace until you unlock the Dam
In the Dam, you go to the people who ask for these locations, in this order:
Camp Krusty
Builder's Shack
Rancho Relaxo
TNT shack
Stonecutter's Lodge
On your way to the Stonecutter's lodge, drive into the lake, along the right-hand side until you reach the point where the island is in full, not Fogged view
Press whatever button happens to teleport you, and you end up back at the beginning.
Repeat.
I actually gain time this way. I could bodaciously just play forever and not even try.
I have to try to lose, it's rare for me to get below $100,000.

Alright so list of games to check out after Dark Souls/Skyrim is, in no particular order: Beyond Good and Evil, Batman Asylum/Arkham, Bastion, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia, and Lost Odyssey. I also found a site where they compiled /v/'s favorite games and found things like Eternal Sonata, Bioshock, Borderlands, Castlevania LoS, Darksiders, Fallout 3, and Nier.
Stuff goes here later.

There is a hidden circle in Hell in which you have to climb Castlevania stairs while avoiding Medusa heads for eternity

And New Vegas over Fallout 3, the writing is so much more fantastic

I'm not sure I'm going to buy Mass Effect 3. I mean, I just don't want to see how EA has utterly annihilated any kind of freedom the player has. I mean, in Mass Effect 1, there were so many customization options. In ME2, they took out so much. I don't even want to think about how much they've taken away in ME3...
Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.
Re: General Game Gabbin'
I'm gonna get it when it's cheaper, probably. Gotta finish my ME1 save insanity run on ME2 too. I'd like to get 3 on PC since it would be cheaper and have better grafics but then I wouldn't be able to have my saves :|

Actually they added a lot from ME2. ESPECIALLY in the choice department.BurntToShreds wrote:I'm not sure I'm going to buy Mass Effect 3. For one, you can upgrade and customize weapons. There's also the point where, since this is the last game, every decision you make will have even BIGGER consequences.
You can, in fact, even alter the level of choices you want to make. Action Setting makes it so difficulty is high, but the story is set (eg no choosing what you want to say), Story makes the difficulty low but lets you chose shit, and RPG gives you a normal difficulty and the choices of Story.
Besides, ME2 didn't take away much except ludicrously dropped guns and armor. This is only a good thing because holy fuck I did not EVER need THAT many guns. Then it beefed up the actual gameplay. Pretty much all around BETTER, and ME3 seems to be trying to put in better RPG aspects while keeping good gameplay and that is like completely okay.
Re: General Game Gabbin'
Man, /v/ is a horrible place but they can somehow make a decent recommendation list. Personally, I would skip Eternal Sonata unless you really want a JRPG. It had great music and a competent battle system, but the story and characters were pretty awful if you ask me. Didn't care much for Darksiders either. It felt like God of War but not as fun. Definitely get Nier though. One of the best JRPGs I've played this gen (even though I didn't finish it yet god what is wrong with me I always do this.)Madican wrote:I also found a site where they compiled /v/'s favorite games and found things like Eternal Sonata, Bioshock, Borderlands, Castlevania LoS, Darksiders, Fallout 3, and Nier.

Re: General Game Gabbin'
The letter in front of RPG doesn't mean anything to me so long as the gameplay is fun and the story is good. I will of course be doing further research into all these games prior to buying any of them. I don't do impulse purchases.
Stuff goes here later.
