man, after about 40 hours into it, the only characters i found at all interesting were emma and david, so i dropped it

i always get these cravings for JRPGs even though i know i'll never finish them

I know it's forced, but you don't really have to worry because there is never more than... well, just romantic tension. Maybe after defeating the final boss where David puts his arm around Irina because shockwave oh god so impressive
