General Game Gabbin'
Re: General Game Gabbin'
Am I the only person that plays video games more than once? It seems that a lot of people now a days buy a game, play it once, and then never touch it again. I don't think I own a game that I haven't played multiple times.
Hell, I just started playing the first X-Men Legends game for the x-illonth time.
But then again, I don't keep up with modern video games really, so maybe they all just are severely lacking replayabilty.

I wanted to buy Arkham City but none of the gas stations near me sell NOS. It's an energy drink and if you buy the specialy marked cans you can get a code that you put in on their website and get another code which you enter on your PSN or whatever, to get a Batman Beyond skin.
I know it's a pretty stupid reason not to, but I don't feel compelled to buy Arkham City otherwise.
Also I'll play a game more than once if it was fun.

i kinda wanna try out arkham city but i kinda lack in the cheddar and even if I didn't I too would much prefer to have at least the option of using the terry skin.
that and I never played the first one so I figure I should at least try to play that before arkham city.

I don't even beat most games :VChekt wrote:Am I the only person that plays video games more than once? It seems that a lot of people now a days buy a game, play it once, and then never touch it again. I don't think I own a game that I haven't played multiple times.

I'm sort of bad at video games in general

Well for screen shot LP's I'm not entirely sure, I don't think people just PRNTSCRN every thing. I know people use things like Camtasia, or Hypercam to record videos and sometimes audacity to record sounds. FRAPS is pretty popular too.
Re: General Game Gabbin'
Also for console game, they use pretty expensive hardware to get the image from the system itself
I've seen a few gameboys with their screens hardwired to the computer via USB, actually, pretty impressive stuff.
What did you think LPers are, pirates?

Re: General Game Gabbin'
I mean do they play the actual game or do they use TOTALLY LEGIT MEANS emulate it?
Re: General Game Gabbin'
If it's got a New Game+ option then sure. Since I mostly play RPG's, once I've got all the story done then there's no reason to start a new game if bonus stuff isn't getting opened up for it. S'why I liked Tales of Symphonia so much, with the ability to purchase options for your NG+.Chekt wrote:Am I the only person that plays video games more than once?
Stuff goes here later.
Re: General Game Gabbin'
I would think that with RPGs there would be more reason to play multiple times.
Different characters/abilities/etc.

Re: General Game Gabbin'
It depends on the LPers. DeceasedCrab and MadamLuna, for instance, use emulators to do (most of) their LPs because it's more practical. Roms of rare games are also easier to find than physical copies of said games, allowing them to LP them without actually owning them.Marcato wrote:I mean do they play the actual game or do they use TOTALLY LEGIT MEANS emulate it?
On the other hand, guys like UltraJMan LP their games with the original games and not roms/ iso. UltraJMan mainly does it because he comes from the speedrunning community, that only uses legit copies of games when speedrunning.

Re: General Game Gabbin'
I've beaten most games i have at least thrice. I played through RE4 on GC almost ten times I think. Twice with only a pistol. I don't play much multiplayer so campaign and story mode's usually what I go for.Chekt wrote:Am I the only person that plays video games more than once?
