Warranties usually last about a year. And a broken hinge isn't necessarily a manufactoring error.

It is when everyone who uses their DS Lite a large amount experiences the same exact thing. Or is that a design error? Whatever it's called, my product broke not because of carelessness on my part, but in a flaw of the product, and I expect to see them take action to fix it.

Plus, I heard that they will fix it if the crack hasn't gotten bad, and it's just barely started. There's just a little chip in the hinge taken out.

My DS Lite has no problems at all, not even with the hinge, and I've had one since the July after it came out. I never understood how other had theirs break.

It's very good.

I'm FINALLY playing Terranigma.

Don't worry guys, I'm beating myself up in different ways for not playing it sooner.

Do you have the urge to say "Hello this is HCBailly" Whenever you turn in on? Cause I do when I play FInal Fantasy IV Advance

How much do you use it? I think the problem is that opening it makes two parts hit each other or something, and they eventually break after repeated opening and closing. So the more you open and close it, the more the hinge deteriorates.

It is still a faulty product, and the producer should still replace it, since it wasn't any mishap on the consumer's part that caused it to break.

Well all three of mine are suffering the problem to varying degrees, and I take great care of my games. Maybe the ones in Florida are more susceptible to it or something.

My DS lite's hinge is on its last legs. It started as a chip, then a crack, then the dreaded red tint.

The discoloration is so bad now it's a miracle I can see anything at all, and there's no way I can see anything in true color. (I'm sure Pokemon White is a beautiful game...)

To be fair, though, I have dropped it a couple times and I've had it for well over a year. I'll probably upgrade when I get the cheddar for a new one.

Edit: so many wordfilters

Seriously, i've used my DS Lite pretty much daily, if not weekly since I got it, and I still don't have this problem. I drop it a lot too.
Do i have the one and only Nintendium DS lite???

(by a lot I mean maybe once every six months when I forget it's on the charger, then pick it up with a loose grip where it falls 3 feet to the carpet below)
