Silent Hill is one of the few series that would make me buy a Sony console.
I r so disappoint it never came to a Nintendo machine.

Silent Hill is more psychologically terrifying than Resident Evil.
Resident Evil is more psychologically terrifying than Dead Space.
Did I get all of that correctly?
I think SH is worse then FF simply because of all the fucked up shit...
FF is just ghosts

When I remember correctly, there will be a Silent Hill game for the Wii soon. Or it's already released, not sure.

It's out.

Meh. I find the second Fatal Frame trumps most of the Silent Hill games. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I refuse to play any of the SH games other then the Wii version simply because I have a somewhat weak constitution and my mind can't handle games as terrifying as that

I have never played a Silent Hill game, but I heard that pretty much all of them after they started being made by a different developer were pretty disappointing.

I'm not sure how to say this, but I'm actually afraid of such games too, but there's still a strange attraction towards them. If I could, I would play the first three Silent Hill games. I got the soundtrack for... uh... not sure which part, and I'm too lazy to go look that up now, but already from just hearing the music...
uuuaaah.
Some months ago I saw a bundle for the PSP with a Silent Hill game and Metal Gear Solid: Spec obs for 20€. When I was about to get it, since Tuxedo Mask was bored and we both would have something from it, the same day he already was at the store and bought a different game for 20€. And next week that bundle was gone. Balls.

The Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth can be very intense or even dramatically creepy at times.

Call of Cthulhu is pretty great.
Silent Hill 2 and 3 are the zenith of the series. 4 was okay, Homecoming was okay, 1 was pretty good though. Origins was enjoyable, if not as frightening as the others.
I always liken it as such: Resident Evil is being afraid of what's there. Zombies, dogs, mutants and monsters. Silent Hill is being afraid of what might be there. The radio is such a useful tool in generating tension of what might be around you.
Plus, SH2 has Pyramid Head. I mean, come on.
If you want some more unnerving and scary games, I recommend the Penumbra series. They employ full newtonian physics in their puzzles, and you often are unable to fight back, leaving you to sneak around. Sound design is pretty good, and if you stare too long at enemies, you begin to panic.
One of my favorite memories is crouching behind some crates in a dark room, with some kind of mutated wolf dogs prowling the room, their eyes glowing in the darkness, knowing that one was right on top of me looking at me, but being unable to look back at it lest I panic and let it see me. It's very unsettling to be so close to something like that and not even being able to look at it. You just begin to hope that it doesn't see you and moves on.

Excpet the original Resident Evil. I'm not afraid to play it, it's just that the controls are... Bleh.
daisies right, man.
Silent Hill 3 isn't good if it won't tell you how to fight what you're up against. I'm fighting the giant burrowing worm with flaps of skin covering the head (seriously, does it,have to be so bleeding obvious? And I thougt using the coathanger was bad) and have no clue what to do. I just keep dying, which breaks any and all sense of terror.

I remember this one time when playing it that I was running around the mansion for about ten minutes, looking for zombies, and... There were none. Confused, I kept looking. It took me three circulations to realize that all of the zombies were following behind me. I never noticed.

Bought, played, and finished Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I enjoyed the game and the fact that the sidekick shares a name with me. I didn't like that it was over so quickly. I beat it after 10 hours.
