Well I do. Its far more fun than repeatedly tapping the same button for combat!
... I wasn't aware anyone like you existed until this very moment. I don't see how anyone could possibly find wiggling a remote back and forth constantly "fun" but I guess that's your opinion.

From what I've read that actually makes it harder or something. Like, it has trouble getting the right shape as what you try on the screen because you have less control that you did with the analog stick. I could be wrong though.
I've found it makes it a LOT harder. I beat the game, but I grew very tired shortly into the game of it constantly refusing to read my drawings. "Sorry, that wasn't actually a straight line" "Sorry, that wasn't actually a straight line" "Sorry, that wasn't actually a straight line" "Sorry, that wasn't actually a straight line" WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, THAT'S AS STRAIGHT AS I CAN MAKE IT.
I found it particularly bad considering I did not have this problem at all with the Trauma Center Wii game (A game which used fairly similar drawn shapes). Okami's motion sensing demanded too much precision.
Ultimately, it made the game feel incredibly random and frustrating IMO.

I'd find it more interesting if it wasn't "Wagging the remote is the equivalent of hitting the A button on a normal controller, but it only works 60-70% of the time." Wagging is a poor replacement for real motion detection. Not to mention it made combos and more advanced moves essentially impossible to pull off, because the timing was so utterly precise when the wagging was anything but precise.
The only game where I found it really acceptable was in Mario Galaxy, and that was namely because it was used for a single move, that was rather low on the lists of attacks you would use anyway.
I wish I hadn't bought the Wii version of Okami, I found it nearly impossible to enjoy

I only had that problem at the very beginning. Just draw short lines, and draw them fast. I had absolutely no problems with the Wii's paintbrush controls for the majority of the game.

That only happened to me with glaives equipped as main weapons (they charged when I didn't want them to), but I used rosaries as main anyway, and I had no problem pulling of combos with those.
In any case, a sequel would be great. To be honest, I thought the story in the original wasn't executed all that well (especially the parts that were supposed to be serious, with the possible exception of Issun's speech and maybe slaying Orochi), so I hope they'll improve that, but other than that Okami was just fantastic.

I've never had any problems with the motion controls in this game. All you do is rhythmically move the wiimote to the left and the right. It's not that hard, and it's not any worse than pressing a button.

Hey look what I found.

So apparently it's going to be on the DS. Doesn't seem too bad, does it? Except for the graphics maybe, but oh well.
Source.
And here's a little more information on this. Not much though.

... Pretty much every bit of hope I had about this game living up to the first has been destroyed.
Argh.

Exactly the opposite for me.

Seriously. you're judging a game with three screenshots ?

No, I'm judging it based on the fact it's about everyone's kids or whatever. Generally those kind of things never work out.
I'm really pessimistic about these sort of things, though.

I don't see how 'many different people' is the same as 'everyone's kids'. And even if it was, so what?
Do you fear it would be too easy? So was Okami.

Also this.

On the other hand, I have high hopes for it, due to the DS having a relatively extraordinarily high number of good games for it, compared to the other current gen systems. At least in my opinion.

About the remote controller swinging, Twilight Princess. About the straight line, try using the in-game hints and use "Z".

It's ultimately a problem of bad coding. Other games like Trauma Center have no problem with tracking (other than the damned defibrillator

). But some games like Okami, seems to have major recognition issues. The "Z" button was a weak work-around considering similar games do not require such a trick, and even while using the Z Button, there was still inconsistancy. I suppose ultimately it is no different from any game with poor control response, except this time it revolves around the wiimote instead of a gamepad.
... It's not entirely surprising though... IIRC, the game was outsourced to another company to complete the port, which didn't uphold the same standards as Clover Studio.

fffffffffuck i don't want a DS Okami!
It's going to be ugly!
it may be fun, but i want a pretty Okami game.
Okami is like, the only game i think that graphics matter as much as plot and gameplay. It's SUPPOSED to be pretty, it's a game about art!
Normally i'm gameplay+plot > graphics kinda gal.. BUT NOT WITH OKAMI ;_;
*cries in a corner*
