Whoops!

So I didn't notice it, but I've run out of screenshots! I mean, screenshots that I took and uploaded before my computer asploded.

That doesn't mean I'm finishing it here though. I still have the emulator, rom, and old savefile on this current computer, so I just need to edit the Pokemon and keep playing. But it does mean that it might be a while until the next episode, because I'm in the middle of exams, and don't have time to edit the save file to put in the proper Pokemon, play and take screenshots, use ARDS to get Pokemon onto the DS, put Pokemon on PBR, connect the Wii to the dvd player when nobody else is home, play a match while winning, record to DVD, take screenshots of DVD, and add commentary.

And the funniest part of all that is that the last step is the one that will take the longest!

Also, in other matters, I was thinking of doing a letsplay of one of the Gen3 games later on, when exams are finished and this one's over, and I have more free time. I want it to be shorter though, and more focused on Generation3 Pokemon and Competitive Play, so I was thinking... Pokemon Ruby? It's shorter, it has Mawile, less sidequests-that-you-sorta-feel-you-have-to-do, and the fun Pickup ability to completely exploit!

Any opinions?

I approve. Although I have seen a lot of Gen III LPs, it would still be nice to view yours.

Well, that's awesome.
Keep in mind that she gives you a Togepi egg earlier on.

Now take a look at the gender of her Togekiss.
Lucario: Aurashipping

Togekiss: Doveshipping

MAKE FANFICTION NOW.

Err... problem, guys.
See, if you didn't know, I lost my savefile when my computer non-bodaciously asloded (it just split in half, that's all).
It's not a big problem in that I can still use Pokesav to fix things... except that I can't get Dialga and Palkia to show up because of the savefile I'm using, and Pokesav can't do anything about it.

So unless somebody has a savefile of Platinum post-Elite Four but without capturing the two, I'm gonna have to skip 'em and go straight to the FINAL BATTLE OF ULTIMATE EVERYTHINGS!

You could solo run through the Elite Four and then fix it.

Yeah... that's just not worth it for one single episode.

This part of the Distortion World is somewhat interesting because it's completely inaccessable from the Mt. Coronet enterance.

Image
And now there is no longer anything of interest here.

For those of you that don't know, the Griseous Orb changes Giratina's form and boosts Dragon and Ghost moves. It also lowers it's defences and raises its attacks by 1/6, actually, because it's Origin forme has different stats to it's Altered (regular) forme. Unfortunately, Altered Giratina's strength lied in it being a great defensive Pokemon, so... yeah...

Image
THE DISTIORTION WORLD, EVERYBODY! Only two screenshots of info!

Image
And now I'm not really sure what to do next.

Image
Hmm... actually, speaking of forms...

Image
...wow, I don't think I've ever come here since the first time!

Man, nobody really does care about the flowers.

Image
EXCEPT FOR ME, THAT IS!

Err...
Okay, that was NOT meant to sound that girly.

Anyway, it's FORM(e) CHANGING TIME!

Image
AAAH, MY GAME IS CORRUPTING! IT MUST BE TURNING INTO MISSINGNO!

Image
Fun fact: Giratina actually grows another 1.5 meters taller when it changes to its Origin Forme, reaching a massive 7 meters!

Fun fact: That's still 2 meters shorter than Onix.

Yeah, Pokemon is pretty much the only RPG in existance not to correlate size with power.

Image
I... cannot believe how... INCREDIBLY GAY that is!

Image
Shaymin also changes size when it changes forme. It doubles in height, actually! But that's not really saying much, since Hedgehog Shaymin is only 20 centimeters tall.

Image
Sprite number one

Image
And sprite number t-

Okay Shaymin why are you facing the wrong way?

Goddamnit Gaymin.

Image
TRAVELLING!

Yup, I'm now at the very last thing I need to do!
In the entire LetsPlay.

I'm just welling up thinking about it... *sniff*

Image
Machineria still isn't involved.

Yeah, I hardly levelled up at ALL after I got Heatran, so Machineria is still horribly overpowered.

...
Oh fiiine, I'll let him fight too in the big battle!

Image
AHA, SLOPE! THIS IS THE LAST TIME I'LL EVER HAVE TO COME UP AGAINST YOU!

Mebbye the end of the LP isn't so bad after all.

Image
Oh, sign, I always loved you!

Image
AND NOW WE ARE IN, FOR THE LAST TIME EVER, MT. CORONET!
LETS MAKE! THIS! HAPPEN!

It's also at this point that my computer asploded.

No, not kidding.

Fortunately, I can still use Pokesav to recreate my team... but it won't be entirely accurate. So don't blame me if you notice any inconsistencies or the fact that Anti-Grav may have completely changed colour.

Also, it does mean that I won't actually be able to fight Palkia and Dialga. Which is... more than a little dissapointing. But oh well, I think we've seen enough screenshots of me trying to catch a significantly weaker legendary by now!

Image
Aaand naturally.

GODDAMNIT ZUBAT I WAS REALLY HYPED UP FOR THE LAST CAVE OF THE ENTIRE GAME!

Image
Didja ever wonder about all these boulders just... being here? I mean, even if you move them, they'll eventually be pushed back again later.
Maybe the boulders, and their locations, are sacred or something. Or hold the key to a great mystery!
...Which nobody will ever figure out because they're always way too inclined to push it away instead of, y'know, just going around it.

Oh well!

Image
...

Y'know, I'd probably be a whole lot happier if I had put away my hatred for these guys and just learned to love the Graveler!

Image
Okay no fuck that these guys are fucking bastards.

Image
MEMORIES!

Image
FOLLOWED BY A SNOW SECTION!

GODDAMNIT!

Image
I skipped ahead a little.

Anyway, it's THE SECRET COMPLETELY UNDOCUMENTED SPEAR PILLAR! Because apparently nobody ever climbed the mountain before (which is slightly understandable because of that wall drawing blocking the path. And who said Cyrus doesn't help out?) and because nobody ever thought to direct their birds to somewhere other than a Pokecenter.

Also, it's only now that I realised it's meant to be an expy of Mt. Olympus. Goddamnit I'm slow!

Anyway, here we have...
Image
NOTHING AT ALL!

I did say I wouldn't be able to fight the dragon duo y'know.

Image
I probably didn't mention that I have an Azure Flute now though!

....somehow.

Image
...
Okay nobody make a comment about that.

Image
MAD SPECIAL EFFECTS, RIGHT HERE! GOTY!

Image
IT GLOWS! IN EVERY COLOUR OF DARKNESS YOU CAN IMAGINE!

Image
Okay this is a really flipping long set of steps!

...why did the pillars have to be sharpened...

Image
IN THE BEGINNING, THERE WAS NOTHING. AND THEN GOD SAID, "DODOGYUUUN". AND IT WAS GOOD.

Image
IT'S GOD-PUNCHING TIME!

Well no, next update willl be GOD-PUNCHING TIME! WOO!

Also, just a warning: the next episode will contain EXTREME AMOUNTS OF AWESOMENESS! AND... will also be really long! As in, about three times as long as a regular update. BECAUSE IT'S THAT AWESOME!

How exactly were you supposed to get the Azure Flute anyway?

It was an obscure wi-fi event, I think.

That kinds sucks. I was hoping to battle Arceus sometime instead of just obtaining it from some random guy at the Poke Mart.

And by "obscure", we mean "non-existent". The Azure Flute was never actually given out.

...yet. It's very likely that they still will, since the HG/SS Arceus-required event can be done twice if you use an event-given Arceus as well as a caught Arceus.

IT'S BATTLAN TIEM - GOD MODE!

And yes, this is the closest stadium to the likes of Spear Pillar. For some reason, they didn't have one for On Top Of A Semi-Invisible Msytical Platform Above An Ancient Ruin On A Giant Mountain.

Image
There's... a few changes too. Like that Machineria is in normal form and has Shadow Ball instead of its regular move. PBR still doesn't use any Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver new stuff.
Also, Arceus is Level 100 instead of Level 80. And I gave it maximum IVs and EVs in defences/HP, but gave it 0 IVs in attacks. To try draw out the battle some more.
Also also, it's moveset is completely different. It now has Judgement and the three Dragon Trio's signature moves, the moveset of the event Arceus; instead of the horrifyingly rubbish Refresh, Recover, Hyper Beam and Future Sight. (Moreso when you consider that it's a wild Pokemon, so it chooses its moves randomly)

Image
On the plus side, the fact that it counts as trainer-owned and I know its moves means that I get to mess around with the AI's lack of pattern recognition and foresight! Woop!

Image
Arceus is... probably going to use Roar Of Time, a Dragon move I send out the resistant Metagross.

Although he could use Spacial Rend... which Metagross also resists against.

And he's resistant to Judgement and Shadow Force too, FYI.

Man, Steel Pokemon are bloody flipping awesome that way, come to think of it!

Image
Okay I was right the first time.

Roar Of Time is a Dragon-Type expy of Hyper Beam. 150 power, 90% accuracy, takes a turn to recharge afterwards.

Image
It also has one of the best visual effect in all of Pokemon Battle Revolution!

Image
HAH, your attack wasn't very effective! It... just... completely destroyed over half its HP.

Okay even with no attack EVs, this guy may be a problem.

Image
Plus side!

Image
Anti-Grav is so awesome, it carries it's own Lens Flare!

Image
SUDDENLY ELECTRICITY! EVERYWHERE!

Also, woop, CritHit! Well this is starting out good! ...at least, as good as you can get when your best-typed Pokemon loses half its HP in one turn.

Image
The problem with screenshotting PBR is that it's hard to show how much damage an attack does while showing the effect at the same time.
These inter-turn shots work though! As you can see, my critical Thunderbolt did... this is going to be a loooong fight...

Image
I am entirely okay with resorting to cheap tactics here.

Image
Arceus' best move in this set is, by far, Judgement. Which is unique in that it takes on whatever type Arceus is at the time, which is in turn determined by whatever item it holds. Except in this case, Arceus doesn't have anything, and is such Normal.
Since it's also its only STAB attack, that means it has an effective power of 150.

But Machineria doesn't have time for normals!

Image
AI is predictable.

Yes, I missed the "The attack doesn't affect MACHINERIA" screenshot.

Image
There's just ooooone little problem with the switch-between-these-two-Pokemon strategy.

Image
Namely, BIG FLIPPING ATTACKS!

Image
The wispering trails of Roar Of Time leave Anti-Grav desolate!

Apparently robots are critically weak to... being loud?

Image
Yes, I'm aware that the only possible point in sending Anti-Grav out is to make Arceus recharge a turn.

Yes, I'm heartless that way.

Image
Here comes Psychick, in all the beauty of grace of someone who doesn't realise they're against an opponent whose regular attack probably does twice the amount of its max HP to them.

Image
Plus side 2: the rechargening!

Image
Which gives me a grand window of opportunity for this!

Which I oh-so dearly need, since it will mean that I can actually make use of Pokemon that would normally die in one hit. Woop!

Very little use, mind you. Remember how much damage a critical Thunderbolt did?

Image
I continue to love Trick Room's visual in this game!

Image
Actually, just about every attack visual in this game is awesome! They really made great use of image distortions!

Image
Psychic does scratch damage, at best.

Okay so I may have a problem now.

Image
Okay so I most DEFINITELY have a problem now!

Image
Yeah...

...she's not getting back up from that...

Image
If Psychick is known-

Image
-for one little thing-

Image
-it's her dramatic exits!

Image
Apparently actually keeping your egg behind when you go to face the Level 100 God Of Everything* is too good a parenting move for Roosevelt.

*Not me this time.

Image
The big upside with Trick Room is that it allows me to put Arceus to sleep before it can attack!

Image
...

Oh fuck.

Image
Yeah okay this is not going to end well.

Image
Welp, there goes the egg! Not to mention the Blissey to-

Image
...
Only took off half it's health?

Okay I knew Blissey had superb Special Defence and HP, but I didn't realise it was THIS good!

Image
Also, if you're wondering why I didn't use Toxic, it's because that would be an incredibly cheap thing to do!

Okay so I've been playing most of the battle so far using cheap tactics, but still.

Image
In completely unrelated matters, I plan on spending most of the rest of the match using cheap tactics too.
See, if you didn't notice, Arceus's attack only did a little over half Blissey's max HP, so...

Image
...using a move that restores its health back to full means that it can survive indefinitely! Or for 10 turns, whatever.

Image
The entire premise behind it is that eventually Arceus will use a different attack at some point, out of AI randomness. Or just run out of PP. Either works for me!

Image
Also, despite having one of the cooler effects, Trick Room doesn't show up in attacks. Which is a pity because you don't get to see it properly in screenshots! Except for ones like this, I mean, but it still doesn't do it justice.

Image
...

I got bored of that cheap "spam Softboiled" plan.

After one turn.

Image
But hey, at least it worked this time! I'd be fairly flipping screwed if it didn't.

Image
Good thing the God Of Everything Forever never bothered to create awakenings when he made the universe!

Image
OOOH, just in time! Good thing I didn't try using Softboiled again or I would've been SCREWED!

Image
I do so like returning Pokemon!

Think of it as being an "equal opportunity fighter". And not that I don't think the girls on my team are in any way capable of fighting!

Image
I'm still horribly off-put by the size of that crotch bulge. Just putting that out there.

Image
Apparently God really did rest on the sabbath turn!

Image
Psy-Guy is here to fulfill his life's greatest amibion:

PUNCH

Image

GOD

Image

IN THE FACE!

Image
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!

Also, that did quiiite a bit of damage!

Image
Aw crap.

Image
Oh right, I forgot he has Shadow Force. And, since it's now a quadruple-damage attack, it gets priority over Judgement!

Which is VERY good for me!

Image
I think there's meant to be a specific animation for this attack when Giratina is doing it, where he disappears into purple darkness and strikes out of it again, but... it just does not work when Arceus is doing it. At the time, Arceus wasn't even officially announced, yet alone given Shadow Force!

Image
YOU CAN'T HIT WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE!

UNLESS YOU'RE A MACHAMP. THEN HE'D BE FLIPPING DEAD!

Image
Roosevelt's pretty much going to be the Pokemon I use the most in this battle, if you haven't already figured that out.

Image
Arceus isn't here right now. Please leave an attack after the beep.

Image
Roosevelt cares not about your magic tricks!

I'm not sure why, though. I mean, I get that attacking with a shadow... something... wouldn't work on Normal-type, but this attack is that the Pokemon itself comes out of the shadow, it's still very much existant itself!

Image
Fancy lights, however, are much more harmful!

Image
OH GOD, THE FLASHYNESS! IT BURNS!

Image

I... just keep doing this for a while. I'm not gonna show it though, because it'd be oh-so-very-boring.
Instead, let's skip straight to-

Image
-when he breaks the pattern!

Image
...
Okay this is pretty much the best daisies screenshot I ever took.

God I love Roar Of Time!

Image
Damage output low: please try again later.

Image
I am so glad Arceus hasn't been able to land a Cricical yet!

Image
I'm also so glad the AI uses inferior moves on occasions too!

Image
I'm also also glad that Sing didn't go "EFF YOU" on me!

Image
Sleeping like a ten foot baby!

Image
IT'S GOD-PUNCHING TIME!

Image
OR... not..

daisies.

Image
PsyGuy's greatest weakness: Purple!

Image
CHEAPNESS HO!

Image
Someday, Arceus, you'll realise that you'd be able to kill a Gallade over 40 levels lower than you with just Judgement. Someday...

Image
More sparkly than a bishieface!

Image
I ATTACK WITH COLOURS!

Image
I'll never tire of Roar Of Time's effects!

Image
Or spamming Softboiled either, for that matter.

Image
This time hopefulyl he won't wake up as soon as I send out another Pokemon...

Image
I don't know how I'd be able to beat this guy without my face-punching action!

Image
Woop, ain't getting ganked tonight!

Image
MORE FACE-PUNCHI...

Oh god...

Image
That is not where his face is!

...OWWWWWW! No wonder it was doing so much damage!

It also makes the visual effect a whole lot worse:
Image

...I think I'm gonna be sick!

Image
Oh seriously, out of PP already?

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK!

Image
DOUBLE FUCK!

Image
I swear the Shadow Force screenshots keep getting darker and darker.

Image
I could keep PsyGuy out, just to show you what Shadow Force looks like... but:
1: Sending out Roosevelt now means it gets an extra turn.
2: The effect isn't that great. Basically, more purple mist, and Arceus strikes forward using its... chest. Because it's too tall!

Image
The good news is that Arceus is now so low on health that I should be able to finish it off without PsyGuy now!

...hopefully...

Image
I didn't think it would be possible for Judgement to get so boring in the space of a single battle.

Image
And now to go back to spamming Softboiled, woop!

Image
...or, y'know, not, because apparently I ran out of PP.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!

Dang.

Image
At least I still have Sing though, right?

Image
Or, y'know, not.

Double dang.

Yeah, at this point Roosevelt won't survive either a Judgement OR a Roar of Time!

Image
...
Okay that is just uncanny.

Image
Arceus really likes the colour purple.

Image
Fortunately, Spacial Rend is juuuust weak enough not to KO it! Wootinary en mass!

Image
SUCCESS!

Image
I do so love the effects in this game.

Image
And this'll be the last we see of Roosevelt too.

All I have left now is Machineria, and...

Image
PORYGON-Z!

Not that it's a permanent evolution, but this guy's been the butt-monkey for nearly the entire game now, and I thought he deserved just one little break!

KICK IT'S booty, EPILEPSIE!

Image
YEAH!

Image
I always liked the way Tr-Attack is done in the 3D games: three orbs of ice, fire, and lightning, linked together!

Image
The after-attack is a little confusing though.

Pity it didn't do much damage.

Image
Y'know, neither Machineria nor Epilepsie is tough enough or fast enough to survive even a single turn if Arceus wakes up.

Eep.

In that regard, I don't wanna wait even a single turn for it to have the chance to wake up.
And yes, if it misses or doesn't do enough damage, then I just screwed myself,
Buuuut...

Image
IT'S GOD-KILLING TIME!

Image
He just knows he's gonna get it!

Or, at least, that would be the case if he wasn't asleep.

Image
OOOH, not anymore he ain't! That has GOTTA hurt!

Image
Woooo, just enough to KO him!

FUNN!

Image
His fainting sequence: he holds his head up high...

Image
...then slouches down forward...

Image
...then levitates up for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Image
I guess he matches even Gardevoir for over-dramatic faint sequence!

Image
MATCH WIN!

Aaaaand that's pretty much all there is to it.

Like, the entire LP.

Hm.

Well, nearly anyway. I've got oooone small episode left to make before I finish it up for good!
