IT'S BATTLAN TIEM - GOD MODE!
And yes, this is the closest stadium to the likes of Spear Pillar. For some reason, they didn't have one for On Top Of A Semi-Invisible Msytical Platform Above An Ancient Ruin On A Giant Mountain.

There's... a few changes too. Like that Machineria is in normal form and has Shadow Ball instead of its regular move. PBR still doesn't use any Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver new stuff.
Also, Arceus is Level 100 instead of Level 80. And I gave it maximum IVs and EVs in defences/HP, but gave it 0 IVs in attacks. To try draw out the battle some more.
Also also, it's moveset is completely different. It now has Judgement and the three Dragon Trio's signature moves, the moveset of the event Arceus; instead of the horrifyingly rubbish Refresh, Recover, Hyper Beam and Future Sight. (Moreso when you consider that it's a wild Pokemon, so it chooses its moves randomly)

On the plus side, the fact that it counts as trainer-owned and I know its moves means that I get to mess around with the AI's lack of pattern recognition and foresight! Woop!

Arceus is... probably going to use Roar Of Time, a Dragon move I send out the resistant Metagross.
Although he could use Spacial Rend... which Metagross also resists against.
And he's resistant to Judgement and Shadow Force too, FYI.
Man, Steel Pokemon are bloody flipping awesome that way, come to think of it!

Okay I was right the first time.
Roar Of Time is a Dragon-Type expy of Hyper Beam. 150 power, 90% accuracy, takes a turn to recharge afterwards.

It also has one of the best visual effect in all of Pokemon Battle Revolution!

HAH, your attack wasn't very effective! It... just... completely destroyed over half its HP.
Okay even with no attack EVs, this guy may be a problem.

Plus side!

Anti-Grav is so awesome, it carries it's own Lens Flare!

SUDDENLY ELECTRICITY! EVERYWHERE!
Also, woop, CritHit! Well this is starting out good! ...at least, as good as you can get when your best-typed Pokemon loses half its HP in one turn.

The problem with screenshotting PBR is that it's hard to show how much damage an attack does while showing the effect at the same time.
These inter-turn shots work though! As you can see, my critical Thunderbolt did... this is going to be a loooong fight...

I am entirely okay with resorting to cheap tactics here.

Arceus' best move in this set is, by far, Judgement. Which is unique in that it takes on whatever type Arceus is at the time, which is in turn determined by whatever item it holds. Except in this case, Arceus doesn't have anything, and is such Normal.
Since it's also its only STAB attack, that means it has an effective power of 150.
But Machineria doesn't have time for normals!

AI is predictable.
Yes, I missed the "The attack doesn't affect MACHINERIA" screenshot.

There's just ooooone little problem with the switch-between-these-two-Pokemon strategy.

Namely, BIG FLIPPING ATTACKS!

The wispering trails of Roar Of Time leave Anti-Grav desolate!
Apparently robots are critically weak to... being loud?

Yes, I'm aware that the only possible point in sending Anti-Grav out is to make Arceus recharge a turn.
Yes, I'm heartless that way.

Here comes Psychick, in all the beauty of grace of someone who doesn't realise they're against an opponent whose regular attack probably does twice the amount of its max HP to them.

Plus side 2: the rechargening!

Which gives me a grand window of opportunity for this!
Which I oh-so dearly need, since it will mean that I can actually make use of Pokemon that would normally die in one hit. Woop!
Very little use, mind you. Remember how much damage a critical Thunderbolt did?

I continue to love Trick Room's visual in this game!

Actually, just about every attack visual in this game is awesome! They really made great use of image distortions!

Psychic does scratch damage, at best.
Okay so I may have a problem now.

Okay so I most DEFINITELY have a problem now!

Yeah...
...she's not getting back up from that...

If Psychick is known-

-for one little thing-

-it's her dramatic exits!

Apparently actually keeping your egg behind when you go to face the Level 100 God Of Everything* is too good a parenting move for Roosevelt.
*Not me this time.

The big upside with Trick Room is that it allows me to put Arceus to sleep before it can attack!

...
Oh fuck.

Yeah okay this is not going to end well.

Welp, there goes the egg! Not to mention the Blissey to-

...
Only took off half it's health?
Okay I knew Blissey had superb Special Defence and HP, but I didn't realise it was THIS good!

Also, if you're wondering why I didn't use Toxic, it's because that would be an incredibly cheap thing to do!
Okay so I've been playing most of the battle so far using cheap tactics, but still.

In completely unrelated matters, I plan on spending most of the rest of the match using cheap tactics too.
See, if you didn't notice, Arceus's attack only did a little over half Blissey's max HP, so...

...using a move that restores its health back to full means that it can survive indefinitely! Or for 10 turns, whatever.

The entire premise behind it is that eventually Arceus will use a different attack at some point, out of AI randomness. Or just run out of PP. Either works for me!

Also, despite having one of the cooler effects, Trick Room doesn't show up in attacks. Which is a pity because you don't get to see it properly in screenshots! Except for ones like this, I mean, but it still doesn't do it justice.

...
I got bored of that cheap "spam Softboiled" plan.
After one turn.

But hey, at least it worked this time! I'd be fairly flipping screwed if it didn't.

Good thing the God Of Everything Forever never bothered to create awakenings when he made the universe!

OOOH, just in time! Good thing I didn't try using Softboiled again or I would've been SCREWED!

I do so like returning Pokemon!
Think of it as being an "equal opportunity fighter". And not that I don't think the girls on my team are in any way capable of fighting!

I'm still horribly off-put by the size of that crotch bulge. Just putting that out there.

Apparently God really did rest on the sabbath turn!

Psy-Guy is here to fulfill his life's greatest amibion:
PUNCH
GOD
IN THE FACE!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!
Also, that did quiiite a bit of damage!

Aw crap.

Oh right, I forgot he has Shadow Force. And, since it's now a quadruple-damage attack, it gets priority over Judgement!
Which is VERY good for me!

I
think there's meant to be a specific animation for this attack when Giratina is doing it, where he disappears into purple darkness and strikes out of it again, but... it just does not work when Arceus is doing it. At the time, Arceus wasn't even officially announced, yet alone given Shadow Force!

YOU CAN'T HIT WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE!
UNLESS YOU'RE A MACHAMP. THEN HE'D BE FLIPPING
DEAD!

Roosevelt's pretty much going to be the Pokemon I use the most in this battle, if you haven't already figured that out.

Arceus isn't here right now. Please leave an attack after the beep.

Roosevelt cares not about your magic tricks!
I'm not sure why, though. I mean, I get that attacking with a shadow... something... wouldn't work on Normal-type, but this attack is that the Pokemon itself comes out of the shadow, it's still very much existant itself!

Fancy lights, however, are much more harmful!

OH GOD, THE FLASHYNESS! IT BURNS!
I... just keep doing this for a while. I'm not gonna show it though, because it'd be oh-so-very-boring.
Instead, let's skip straight to-

-when he breaks the pattern!

...
Okay this is pretty much the best daisies screenshot I ever took.
God I love Roar Of Time!

Damage output low: please try again later.

I am
so glad Arceus hasn't been able to land a Cricical yet!

I'm also so glad the AI uses inferior moves on occasions too!

I'm also also glad that Sing didn't go "EFF YOU" on me!

Sleeping like a ten foot baby!

IT'S GOD-PUNCHING TIME!

OR... not..
daisies.

PsyGuy's greatest weakness: Purple!

CHEAPNESS HO!

Someday, Arceus, you'll realise that you'd be able to kill a Gallade over 40 levels lower than you with just Judgement. Someday...

More sparkly than a bishieface!

I ATTACK WITH
COLOURS!

I'll never tire of Roar Of Time's effects!

Or spamming Softboiled either, for that matter.

This time hopefulyl he won't wake up as soon as I send out another Pokemon...

I don't know how I'd be able to beat this guy without my face-punching action!

Woop, ain't getting ganked tonight!

MORE FACE-PUNCHI...
Oh god...

That is not where his face is!
...OWWWWWW! No wonder it was doing so much damage!
It also makes the visual effect a whole lot worse:
...I think I'm gonna be sick!

Oh seriously, out of PP already?
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK!

DOUBLE FUCK!

I swear the Shadow Force screenshots keep getting darker and darker.

I
could keep PsyGuy out, just to show you what Shadow Force looks like... but:
1: Sending out Roosevelt now means it gets an extra turn.
2: The effect isn't that great. Basically, more purple mist, and Arceus strikes forward using its... chest. Because it's too tall!

The good news is that Arceus is now so low on health that I should be able to finish it off without PsyGuy now!
...hopefully...

I didn't think it would be possible for Judgement to get so boring in the space of a single battle.

And now to go back to spamming Softboiled, woop!

...or, y'know, not, because apparently I ran out of PP.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!
Dang.

At least I still have Sing though, right?

Or, y'know, not.
Double dang.
Yeah, at this point Roosevelt won't survive either a Judgement OR a Roar of Time!

...
Okay that is just uncanny.

Arceus really likes the colour purple.

Fortunately, Spacial Rend is juuuust weak enough not to KO it! Wootinary en mass!

SUCCESS!

I do so love the effects in this game.

And this'll be the last we see of Roosevelt too.
All I have left now is Machineria, and...

PORYGON-Z!
Not that it's a permanent evolution, but this guy's been the butt-monkey for nearly the entire game now, and I thought he deserved just one little break!
KICK IT'S booty, EPILEPSIE!

YEAH!

I always liked the way Tr-Attack is done in the 3D games: three orbs of ice, fire, and lightning, linked together!

The after-attack is a little confusing though.
Pity it didn't do much damage.

Y'know, neither Machineria nor Epilepsie is tough enough or fast enough to survive even a single turn if Arceus wakes up.
Eep.
In that regard, I don't wanna wait even a single turn for it to have the chance to wake up.
And yes, if it misses or doesn't do enough damage, then I just screwed myself,
Buuuut...

IT'S GOD-KILLING TIME!

He just knows he's gonna get it!
Or, at least, that would be the case if he wasn't asleep.

OOOH, not anymore he ain't! That has GOTTA hurt!

Woooo, just enough to KO him!
FUNN!

His fainting sequence: he holds his head up high...

...then slouches down forward...

...then levitates up for no apparent reason whatsoever.

I guess he matches even Gardevoir for over-dramatic faint sequence!

MATCH WIN!
Aaaaand that's pretty much all there is to it.
Like, the entire LP.
Hm.
Well, nearly anyway. I've got oooone small episode left to make before I finish it up for good!
