A new Ace Attorney game has been announced in Famitsu, and right on its heels was a confirmation of localization.
What we know so far:
The game takes place in an as-of-yet unnamed country. The hamburgers will have to wait, as Phoenix has arrived there for an unknown reason but is soon pulled into another unrelated (as far as we know) case.
This country is known for its belief in the spirits of the dead.
A large Water Mirror (mizukagami) is featured prominently on the floor of the courtroom and is apparently related to the game's main gimmick. Images and words float in the water on the top screen, with responses made via selections on the touch screen.
New character: Bokto Tsuani (roughly translated). Bokto is a monk-in-training who works as a tour guide to make some cheddar. It’s said that after starting his tour-guide-talk, he can’t be stopped. He appears to be wearing a magatama with a design similar to the magatama of the Fey clan. Bear in mind that magatamas are common in Japanese culture, so this is likely a completely different clan.
One page of Famitsu's coverage shows a mysterious girl. However, it's said that she is not a witness, prosecutor or judge.
omg, yes! Really excited, especially considering that a Western release is already confirmed.

I don't want to get carried away with mad theorising or anything, but I have the feeling that the 6 on that logo is a very Maya-ish shade of purple. Considering her letter in Dual Destinies said she'd see Nick soon, is it probable that she'll come back like Pearl did last time 'round?

Some more info from Famitsu scans:
The mysterious girl is featured prominently in multiple images. Still nothing about her identity, but in one screenshot she seems to be objecting to a hastily-passed verdict.
A few translated quotes:
– The theme is “courtroom revolution”
– You can turn off hints!
– Development on the game is 30% complete
What’s the theme and concept of Ace Attorney 6?
Takeshi Yamazaki, director: “Throughout the series, Phoenix Wright is in a place that lacks enemies. Because of that, we’re paying more attention to the world this time.”
Eshiro Motohide, producer: “It’s tough to develop within the Japanese courtroom, since an exhilarating part of the game is how situations can change from from desperate to complete turnabouts. The theme is ‘courtroom revolution.’ Phoenix Wright changing the system of the court is a major theme.”

Nice to already know it's coming to the West, though the lack of news regarding The Great Ace Attorney localization worries me.

Famitsu scans and translations are continuing to come in, so here's an overview:
– Once again, the game is set in a foreign country which Phoenix visits “for a certain goal”
– The old Wright luck kicks in and he finds himself wrapped up in a certain case when his tour guide is arrested
– Phoenix goes to see the trial
– When there, he sees there’s no defense attorney and the judge is relying on things like an “oracle of spirits” to hand down a guilty verdict immediately
– Phoenix objects and takes the defense’s bench
– In the game is the mysterious, strong-willed woman in the art
– This woman is neither a witness nor a prosecutor nor a judge
– She’s this game’s “key person” like Athena in AA5
– Note that it does not say she’s Phoenix’s assistant, just reuses the “key person” term
– The “water mirror” in the courtroom plays a part in a new system they’re keeping under wraps
– The magazine also seems to suggest there may be other small changes from the usual courtroom antics
– This new system will be playable at TGS 2015
– In this country, there are prosecutors, but no defense attorneys
– Defendants must use a “certain object” to defend themselves
– The game’s theme is a “courtroom revolution”
– The team felt Phoenix was in a position where he didn’t really have anyone who could match up to him in Japan, so that was part of the reason they moved him into the wider world
– They also hope that trials in a court where the usual “rules” don’t play will help give a sense of urgency to the game that they couldn’t get in just a plain Japanese trial
– Devs have heard complaints about Ace Attorney 5 being too easy due to the many hints characters gave
– With this game, they’re aiming to let the player enable/disable hints on their own, and to avoid direct clues like in AA5
– Development is still fairly early on
– The team wants to make a game to surpass the previous entries, and to “betray the player’s expectations – in a good way!”

Man, this looks like it's going to be quite different from the other Ace Attorneys. Curious to see how trials work out exactly.
We get some images of the scenery, including some locales and the courtroom
We see some kind of security guard or local policeman in one screenshot, and the local judge in the other
Plus we get some clearer in-game shots of Bokto and the girl Look at that smug grin
Yessir she is definitely gonna be a problem

New trailer! Subtitles are in annotations
Confirms that the new country is the Kingdom of Kurain! Sound familiar?
The mysterious girl is Leifa Padma Kurain, princess of the kingdom.
