Re: Bravely Default - It only gets worse from here on in...
I started playing the demo a few days ago. No one around me has played the game, so it will take my tiny villager 10 hours to punch this boulder.
Also, is there any benefit to maxing out all the jobs for all the characters in the demo? The fact that it caps the jobs at level 4 (I assume the full game goes higher) means it's actually doable, and it might give a bonus to transfer over, right?

The chapter where you fight the bosses as teams suddenly makes everything a lot more fun and interesting. It should've happened like two chapters earlier.

Yeah, I mean, I didn't expect anything special the fourth time I fought Ominas Crowe but then he brought in his fucking dragon AND THEN HE, THE KNIGHT AND MONK 3V4'D ME and shit got good.
Also, I'm nearly finished with this game! Final chapter, just have to muster up the effort to do the final dungeon.

I figured I'd try to get the bad ending without saving, only for the game to autosave after a battle and now I can't get back because I'm a fucking idiot.

Don't worry, after getting the bad ending you appear in Caldisea before you broke the crystal and can get the good ending from there.

Okay, I beat everything in the demo, including maxing all the jobs (because why not).
I got the full game a few days ago. I'm not very far yet (just got the Thief job today.) So my dudes aren't super strong yet or anything. But if you want to summon them for some reason, I offer my friend code:

Angel Bow for OP Best Bow.
I got it way early and it was one shotting everything. Even now, 5+ hours later, it's still taking off at least 2/3rds health from most enemies (and still killing the weakest ones). Combine with Mug for mucho profito.

The true secret to OPness lies in giving up.Shining Charizard wrote:Angel Bow for OP Best Bow.

Giving up weapons, giving up armor, let your Natural Power flow and did Edea just punch the final boss for 9999 damage on a standard hit dayum.
Stuff goes here later.

Wow, the game really wants me to think that Ringabel is Alternis.
But that can't be right because he'd have to travel across an entire ocean and back in one night.
I'm in that state where you are caught between taking the game at face value, but also being critical of everything due to familiarity with genre/game tropes. You think it's a twist, so you expect it, but then when it doesn't happen, it's also a twist.
Meaning I have no idea anymore. But I hope it's not true.

Well, he is, just not in the way you're expecting.
I thought that was really well done. Ringabel/Alternis is by far the most compelling character in the entire game.

Wait, I think I've got it. D's Journal is definitely written by Alternis. That much seems right.
But I don't think it's just that Ringabel is Alternis. Or rather, I don't think that Ringabel is THIS Alternis. There's something like time travel or alternate worlds or something involved. Ringabel is another Alternis who somehow ended up here.
It would explain the weird, anachronistic summons.
I've just defeated Victor, Victoria, and Braev so I think I'm getting close to finding out what the deal is, anyway.

Nice one.
I pieced it together when things written in D's journal started to become different from what actually happened and the only thing in common was that in D's journal, Ringabel seemed to not exist.
