OK, made it through Vampire Castle. I got everybody their next job level in there and then said fuck it and turned off encounters for the last floor. And everything was OK.

You're going to love Count DeRosso.

I actually didn't have too much trouble with him. I figured out pretty early on that he casts Energy Burst right after Battle Thirst, and from there it was just Hastega, keep everyone healed, attack when someone was ready, Hastega again when necessary, Default everyone right after he uses Battle Thirst, done.

I did manage to gain a huge lead on him when I used Ringabel the Black Mage's Lv. 2 special to lower his Stop resistance, and then inflicted Stop with another special, so that was hilarious.

Compared to Vampire Castle, Everlast Tower was a complete breeze. Gigas Lich was kind of an asshole with Death, but not too troublesome besides that. Also I beat Alternis Dim, and he was kind of a joke. From there, I've beaten a couple rehashed bosses in the first new world.

I'm playing through Bravely Second right now. I've heard about this piece of news before, and though I'd most likely would've aimed for the neutral outcomes myself regardless, it really sucks to hear they removed the other endings.

I've been playing so much Bravely Second.

Unlike in Default I'm actually using Bravely Second to deal massive damage to bosses.

The last boss I fought got hit by a nice 95,000 damage from my Bow.
When I boost my stats even bosses have trouble hurting Edea, who I have as a debilitating tank. Massive defence and reduce enemy stats. (The highest I've seen Edea's defence at for me is 433.)

A combination of Withering Wave (Light res down), Lux and Angelic Pillar is amazing.

I finally finished the first game by using a completely broken job combo I found on reddit. So, uh, is the second one worth it even with that piece of news?
