The final boss is a fun, though sometimes a bit frustrating ride. It's worth beating though. The epilogue is wonderful.

So does the Vampire sidequest disappear when I go into this pillar of light.
Because I can't beat these stupid dragons. At all.

just cheese them, things like the templar's rampart or the ninja's utusemi can be abused to easily wreck them

there's a pattern to their attacks and if you know the pattern as well as your party's move speed, you can setup for when they weaken your party's resist.Shining Charizard wrote:So does the Vampire sidequest disappear when I go into this pillar of light.

Also after you go into the pillar of light there's actually more to the game. Assuming you're on chapter 4 you can go on ahead and try the dragons again later. I found some extra levels helped me out in addition to leveling up some useful jobs.

I got the dragons by just auto-battling with Ninja, seeing as all their attacks are physical.

Yeah pretty much. Now the dungeon to actually get to the vampire is a whole nother bag of beans.

Which is why I turned of random encounters for that. Worked like a charm.

Okay, yeah, I ended up cheesing them with 4x Utsusemi combos. I even got Unscathed 4 out of 6 fights.
But, more about the whole Ringabel is Alternis thing...
Any semblance of mystery was completely, utterly ruined during the fight when both of them did the exact same "hop from side to side getting ready to fight" motion, completely in synch.
I mean, it's revealed at the end of the fight and I had already figured it out, but I guess for anyone that hadn't, it would've been a good tell.

So I just started playing this game, and while I'm glad to see Agnes is getting less prudish over time, I feel like they overdid the sexual overtones with Ringabel. It's like any dialogue he is ever in required him to make at least 5 pervert jokes, which is sad because the few times he doesn't mindlessly drone on about women (mainly when the plot gets serious) shows he could have been a more likable character.
Also, does anyone know what happens if you cheat/overlevel and kill Victor and Victoria in Chapter 2? I tried googling and surprisingly found no answers.

Ringabel is actually the best and surprisingly respectful for the most part.
Re: Bravely Default - It only gets worse from here on in...
Maybe he improves over time then. I hated Agnes in the beginning of the game because she just repeated the same 3 lines of dialog for 30 minutes, so maybe gets better. I like his character but the constant innuendo is very annoying to sit through.
Agnes: "I GO ALONE"
Agnes: "THIS IS MY BURDEN TO BEAR"
Agnes: "UNNACCEPTABLE"
On an unrelated note, has anyone had any funny moments come up from jobs appearing in game other than the obviously ridiculous Hunter class? I was using the thief/bow combo on Agnes for most of the game when the Party Chat came up about her not knowing what an arrow was, and in the scene where Alternis shows up for the first time, and destroys the sky crystal, Ringabel being late was a bit more ironic because he was a Time Mage during the incident.
