I guess we just have to trust that if it doesn't get damaged, it is immune. Put up a trainer's tips sign on an early route that says rock, ground, and steel pokemon are unaffected by Sandstorm for the newbies, and leave it at that.

3 vs 3 does sound silly.
Then again, double battles sounded silly when they first came out. Although, I still prefer single battles after all of these years. Hopefully triple battles will be a very rare occurrence, or maybe there will be some further gimmick that makes them less cumbersome.

3 VS 3 battles.
There's the inevitable teaming up thing. Like Steven in the Mossdeep Space Center.

But I'm predicting you team up with your rival and the Champion. Just because you can.

Or... Your rival IS the champion.

Now how crazy would that be?

I picture an army of 50 pokemon fighting another.
Regardless of how complex that may be, it would be EPIC.

I hear that. That would get annoying. Unless you have "SET" on, the animations would still go through, unless it all happens at once.
I think our worries about individual Sandstorm or other environmental warnings can be put to rest. I reviewed the video at http://www.filb.de/ , and at 0:46, one of the opponent's pokemon uses Rock Slide. Unlike the previous titles, the animation can be seen affecting all three of the user's pokemon simultaneously, whereas in double battles in previous generations, the animation would play twice, once for each targeted pokemon.

If attacks that strike multiple opponents play an animation that includes all of them, then perhaps they've finally corrected this annoyance with all other similar effects.

Wait.
I think you confused me.
I'm pretty sure that in D/P/Pl/HG/SS a move like Rock Slide hits all opponents at the same time. One animation, they just do the HP reduction thing after one another.

I want a Zelda-Esque action/adventure type pokemon more.
Choose what pokemon you are and use different button combos for different attacks, no random encounters, the ability to move during battle, etc.

Also, a Pokemon and/or Mario 3D MMORPG.

In Mario, instead of WoW's Alliance/Horde, its Mushroom Kingdom/Koopa Kingdom.

Races for MK are toad, delfinans, etc
Races for KK are goombas, koopas, etc

All mounts are Yoshis

Closest thing you'll get to something like that would be the Mystery Dungeon series and that Pokepark game.

Neither of which are anything close to a Zelda game.

Well even if that isn't the case, you can still see that it affects all the pokemon visibly. I'd imagine that in playtesting, someone would complain if they encountered ridiculous amounts of environment warnings every turn, so I have my hopes.

Guys I'm not going to lie, but I am very excited for Gen V now. This Gen looks x10 better then Gen IV.
That mantis thing, Ononokusu (オノノクス), looks freaking epic. I want one.

So if the translations for the names I heard are right, the tarantula will be electric type. (Denchura: Den for electricity and chura is part of tarantula)

From what little I can see, Desukan (デスカーン) appears interesting to me, but it also gives me the impression that it might be an evolution to Spiritomb. If that is the situation, then I'm hoping for a better method of obtaining one in this generation.
