It makes me wonder if the Pokemon designers are doing that on purpose or if they are truly that naive.

It's like palkia was the rough draft but they ran outta time and then they just put the final design for it as the new legendary for white.

Because having the background color correspond with the title is more important than having the cover pokemon correspond with the title.

Maybe it is - if kids ask their parents to buy them Pokemon Black for their birthday... I'm guessing parents are gonna look for the overall box art colour first, rather than the Pokemon on it.

Probably a smart move by Nintendo (and better for retailers) to just straight-out avoid third-party-purchaser confusion in this way, and subsequent: "Mommy/Daddy you bought the wrong gaem I haet yuuu!"

I honestly can't imagine how many of them will go based on the color of the box instead of the actual title of the game. They're gonna have a hard time in life if they make decisions like that.

It doesn't bother me that much that they switched the legendaries, it's just that when I see a counter-argument I can't help but bring it up.

Associating a legendary of one colour with a version viewed as the opposite colour isn't new. They had done exactly this with Latias/Latios in the Ruby and Sapphire versions. I suppose people are complaining now that it's the main legendaries displayed on the cover.

Parents are monumentally stupid when it comes to buying games

I remember last christmas when my mum asked me if I wanted a Wii game and I said "Uh, New Super Mario Bros Wii I guess"

She got me Mario Kart Wii.

She got me that one the year before

That is why I am glad I have my dad because he knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to buying games.


Seriously last Christmas he got me ICO. I DO NOT EVEN KNOW HOW HE MANAGED TO DO THAT

This is why I make a list. And then my parents take the list shopping with them. Well honestly I only have like four things on my list at the moment with two months until my birthday but whatever.
