The only one I feel is really in danger is Lucario, but even then they'll give his moveset to a more recent Pokemon rep. I think we're just not going to get as many new characters as we might expect.

I wouldn't count on it. Those games have a decent enough following that they would raise hell if they were removed.

Yeah but it's not like they wouldn't have any characters to their name.
Also, people will raise hell when they remove anyone. Even when Young Link was changed to Toon Link.
And who else are they gonna remove? We're at the brink of a new Wind Waker re-release so I doubt Toon Link's out. Dedede and Meta Knight are sort of a duo so it seems wrong to remove wrong and not the other but it also seems wrong to remove both (and let's not forget Kirby characters are kind of Sakurai's babies). Lucario's probably out but he's likely to be replaced by Newtwo. Snake might be replaced by Megaman, but Sonic's probably staying since Sega and Nintendo are best pals now. it's a conundrum: Nintendo has too much great IP.

But as for new characters, I'm secretly hoping Namco gives us a Soul Calibur character (like Seigfried) rather than something like Pacman. He is from a fighting game after all.

You play as three other captains in Pikmin 3 instead of Olimar. I mean he might show up but from what we know he's not in it.

I don't think Pikmin's going to take up as many slots as Pokemon or anything, but with the 3rd coming out there's a chance both Olimar and the new three will make an appearance, even if one ends up just being a costume.

Y'all are out of the loop. Olimar is confirmed to appear, for sure in the multiplayer mode but no word on single player. There used to be 4 captains but they trimmed it down to just 3: Alph, Brittany and Charlie.

Why does everyone have such a problem with the nunchuck in that game? It's my preferred method of playing.

Yeah, once you get used to it the wii remote + nunchuk is pretty great.

My only complaints are that side taunts are hard to do and waggle smash attacks usually aren't very precise.

Waggle smash is worthless and I don't use it, so I just use the stick. For taunts I reassign them to the d-pad.

Characters I can see getting dropped: Ike (probably replaced with Chrom or whatever the new FE dude's name is), Snake, Lucario (Mewtwo will likely replace), Lucas, Wolf, Diddy Kong (this one's just me hoping though), R.O.B. and Toon Link.

Characters I would like to see introduced: Little Mac(Punch Out) and Space Pirate(Super Metroid). Part of me also wants to see different starter Pokemon if the Pokemon Trainer returns (e.g. Chikorita/Combusken/Empoleon).
