The Villager's Final Smash. He places a mask of his own face on you and then hides in a hole. Tom Nook comes to collect the Villager's debt.

His FS will probably have something to do with a whole buttload of AC characters flooding the screen.
I'm not massively familiar with AC or the Villager tbh.

Golden items. He gets faster, significantly stronger, and a lot heavier.
alternatively, he buries someone with the shovel, and then calls in a stampede of villagers.

He gets the smash ball, and a bell counter appears along with a tent. Suddenly bells fly everywhere and the counter goes up. At certain totals, the tent turns into a house and expands suddenly. Maybe fish and fruit bounce along with the surge of bells. Finally the counter finishes, and with a final violent growth spurt, the house is complete.
And the villager does a dance to celebrate with fanfare.

Villager gets Smash Ball. Puts it in pocket. Pulls out newly enhanced Hammerhead Shark.

If you swallow megaman as Kirby you are legally required to say "Now I've got your power." or some variation there upon.

I don't think this has been posted here yet:
No cross-platform play for Smash Bros on 3DS and Wii U.
joystiq.com wrote:The Wii U and 3DS versions of the new Super Smash Bros. will not feature cross-platform play, director of Sora Ltd. Masahiro Sakurai tells Joystiq.
I kinda thought that was the whole point of having a version on each console? I did wonder though - seeing as each version already has confirmed exclusive stages (how could you play across versions if they don't have the exact same stages to choose from).
I guess it also means that version-exclusive characters are more likely.

Version-exclusive characters are indirectly confirmed by them saying the versions will have the same number of characters.

That was my thinking too.
The fact that 'Toon Link' appears on the Spirit Tracks stage begs the question if he'll be a playable character on the 3DS version.
I guess Villager is a likely 3DS version candidate, not sure about Wii Fit Trainer.
From what I gather, most of the people I used to play with at an old Smash Bros. site are gonna focus more on the Wii U version, so I might be left out if I focus on the 3DS version.
Kinda puts pressure on me to get a Wii U, but I'm still not convinced I want to get one.

IIRC, they did later confirm during the developer discussions that the rosters will be the same between the versions (I'll need to find a link later), allowing what connectivity there actually is (not actually fighting between the versions) work. It wouldn't work, however, if there were exclusive characters, as you wouldn't be able to "trade" data between the versions that way.
The stages will be different between the versions, focusing on handheld and console settings though.
Also, an interesting thing to note, DLC will not be in SSB3U. So the hopes of old stages as DLC, characters, buyable costumes, or whatever people thought was going to happen... isn't going to happen. This means not even free DLC outside of version updates.

I just assumed classic stages would be unlockable. I don't know how it works on other franchises but I would imagine you need for the other person to have downloaded a stage to be able to multiplayer on it? I think Sakurai would want to avoid stuff like that happening.
I don't think alternate costumes are really the thing for a game like Smash Bros. The characters are already so visually/physiologically different - so I can see Sakurai's argument about DLC costumes only detracting from that. I think alt. colours are enough for Smash Bros.
