Whereas PSASBR was a new thing and a combo pack was a bullet point for incentive.

I think Sakurai/the dev team stated that the 3DS/Wii U versions are NOT going to be identical, and will each focus on different things, the handheld version on a more expansive singleplayer most likely.

Looks like Melee will be at EVO.

I dunno, I feel like a handheld would be better focusing on multiplayer. It'd be easier for the players, having their own screen.

Though I guess having one TV screen would be better for people watching so I dunno.

I think they were talking about online multiplayer.

In which, the Wii U would probably be better suited to doing that.

Besides, while the 3DS is good for kinda spontaneous multiplayer, having a game night is better when one person has a console and everyone gathers around it.

I'm think Paper Mario's got a good shot, and I'd really like to see Palutena and Tom Nook (Animal Crossing needs a rep and he's the one solid face of the franchise).

Toad would just gas everywhere. Maybe yell a bit too.

I'm curious as to how they're going to handle the third party characters though. Sonic's probably safe since Sega and Nintendo are buddies now, and if that's happening I'd like Snake back but I don't think he's as guaranteed. If Namco's got a hand in it I can see Pac-Man getting in but something about that seems...wrong...
