A few weeks? The Dojo ran for over a year. I'd always get up first thing in the morning and check out the latest news that came out. I don't think I've followed any site as religiously as I did the dojo.

I remember when I woke up and checked Dojo, only to find Sonic was in the game.

It was a great morning.

I can only imagine the excitement then. :)

But it would be nice for the next dojo to have some kind of official discussion forum or something. It only seems like it was Sakurai telling the fans stuff. I'd like for us to tell him stuff. (Such as no tripping)

I remember one article when he was talking about online mode.

One of the guys in the screenshots was named "SKRAI" and his quote was "Real men use items!"

The Dojo is still up to read. Reading them really took me back.
P...K.... STARRRRRRRRSTORRRRRRRRRM!
Despite being almost all head, his mask and cape exude coolness.

I checked the dojo pretty much erryday from the day the Sticky Bomb was revealed (that was the first time I found out about the dojo).

I remember the day when Sonic was revealed; all the doubters had to eat their doubts.

It's especially funny 'cos the guy who set up a Brawl forum I was on was adamant that Sonic would never, ever get into Brawl.

Well, Sonic did place second on the poll that was supposed to determine the second (as as far as we knew, last) 3rd party character in the game, but apparently Capcom wasn't willing/able to lend Megaman at the moment, so Sonic got in instead.

So by all account, no one really expected him to make it since he didn't win the poll.

My best day was seeing Olimar make it in, even if I didn't use him that much. The Pikmin series definitely needed some representation. I also liked seeing Deoxys get announced (right around my birthday, if I remember correctly), but I was upset that he didn't replace Mewtwo and was just a Pokeball summon. Still though, he got in and in my favorite Forme of his too.

I would have been ecstatic about ROB getting announced as a playable (I liked that they included them in the emissary as minions), but the Japanese release of the game spoiled that for me.

Actually, Inafune (who was still working with Capcom at the time) said that Nintendo never contacted them for Mega Man, and that he would be more than pop flyin' to allow Nintendo to put Mega Man in the game.

I've heard that too, but apparently Nintendo contacted Capcom and not Inafune directly.

There's a bunch of conspiracies about why Megaman didn't make it, like Capcom "trying to kill Megaman" all the way back then, the programmers finding him to be broken/too hard to make work (doubt it), and ideas that Nintendo rigged the competition to get Sonic in, so it's hard to say what really happened with the whole thing.

I do genuinely believe that Inafune wasn't contacted about Megaman being used in Brawl though, but as to whether Nintendo or Capcom dropped the ball on that is anyone's guess.

Also, was anyone more excited about certain news on the Dojo (like character announcements, mechanics, stages, etc.) than you were when you got the game/played with it for a bit? I was really excited for Olimar and ROB, but I could never get into playing as Olimar and while I used to main ROB, his recovery was too slow to dodge aerials when I flew off the stage.

That's a stupid rumor that was born from the hatred idiots have towards Capcom. There are no conspiracies. I'd rather believe what we know (as in, "Inafune saying Nintendo didn't contact Capcom about Mega Man") than speculate about hateful bullshit.

Sakurai's said he really wants a Capcom rep in the next game...so...Megaman?

Though some people say they want Street Fighter instead.
