I don't think this is what she's saying at all. It's been a while since I've watched the videos, but I remember her specifically saying that this particular trope is not, by itself, the problem in any individual game. It's the ridiculous level of pervasiveness of it that's the problem. She doesn't like "damsel in distress" but is also not okay with the opposite, so she seems to be more hung up on the fact that tropes exist at all?
She never properly explains what would be a "good" female character in her opinion and has both criticized arguably weak female characters, sexy looking female characters, strong female characters and mixes thereof.
