I own this book. I'm not sure if I'm proud of that now that I see the internet laughing at it. Looking back, it's kinda Mary Sue-ish. Guy she likes from an RPG luckily is the popular, hot, Drama Club guy; She joins a manga/anime club, and then gives a lesson on how to draw, because she's sooo good at it; and she plays the online game with her Dad whenever she's at his house. I remember not liking the art very much because the hair was always way bigger or higher than the head. But it was pretty good to my middle school girl eyes. "Hip" thing kids say: "Later gator!" "Slumming it". I liked that they mention Fruits Basket, .hack//SIGN, and Voltron. It seems silly now, but it was good for me when I read it middle school.wordNumber wrote:Rock out with your Manga out

Re: Text Screencap and/or Dumb Internet Comments Thread 2.0
My school accidentally forgot to turn off the LAN connection between student computers this year, so all our iTunes libraries are visible if we allow them to be. This has resulted in some pretty amusing names, I think. A lot of them are Homestuck because most of the others are just stupid.

This one is of playlists inside someone's library.

This one is mine.

Mine again, I ended up just putting an ellipses at the end.

Another of mine.

There are 4 main parts to Tumblr. The terrifying SJW's, the dumbass fandom section, the hipster section and the fourth, rather small I guess, section that's only there to have a semipleasant internet experience.

Social Justice Warriors, the people on tumblr who take it upon themselves to attack others for being white, non-trans, non-upstanding member of society or otherkin, heterosexual, American and etc. in the name of "justice" and "equality." AKA the source of the most insane things in this thread, like "it's not possible to murder a white person/it's not possible to be racist against a white person/killing white people is just and heroic because they're not a minority," etc.

Re: Text Screencap and/or Dumb Internet Comments Thread 2.0
I don’t understand why no one seems to think that if your brain is splitting off into personalities to protect you from something, it might choose the personalities of characters you know well from various books/shows/movies. Why is that so far-fetched? I get people being all, “OMG YOU THINK YOU’RE HARRY POTTER FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE THAT’S SO DUMB” (even if I don’t agree with the sentiment), but wherever these people come from, even it is, in many people’s opinion, more likely to be a creation of the mind, they’re still people. Just like any other alter, they feel things individually, and that makes them real enough to me. People are often nice about alters when it’s “Little Sally who is five years old and likes unicorns,” but when it becomes “Little Draco who is five years old and likes snakes,” people pitch a fit. Huh?
So yeah, if someone says they have Harry Potter in their head, I’m going to say, “Hi, Harry.” And if he says he’s just gone through the loss of his godfather, I’m going to console him. Because you know what? Feelings. It’s all about feelings. If your brain created (or found, or whatever) a being to feel those feelings, I bet you needed it. Dissociative Identity Disorder is super weird — the brain can do remarkable things to itself. And non-diagnosed multiplicity is just as weird (and many of the same phenomena appear — you dissociate to let someone else front just as much anyone does). Just let it be, guys. Let people be who their brains tell them they are. Why is it such a huge and offensive thing?
