Guy I know was longboarding down a hill when he managed to stack and faceplant on his mouth. His jaw penetrated the top of his mouth. He had to wait 2 months in hospital before he had a 6-7 hour operation which reconstructed his jaw and removed most of the front, upper teeth.

When my mom was 13 someone pushed her into a deep ditch and she shattered both of her front teeth into her lip. She had to have crowns screwed into her jaw. For years, up until maybe 5 years ago? (she's in her 40s now,) she still had pieces of tooth in her lower lip. She let me feel them once, and showed me the last piece that came out when it did, and the hole it came out of.

Kyle hit himself in the face with a mountain while snowboarding a couple years before I met him and luckily only escaped with a chipped tooth, busted lip and some serious bruising to his face. I'm really surprise he didn't have a broken nose or anything else like that. He was in seriously bad shape. He was unconscious when the EMTs got him (he said he dreamed of Falco doing his up+B move in Smash Bros over and over while he was out,) and when he came to (though he doesn't remember anything that happened,) he kept telling the paramedics his name was Lord Gorlock when they asked and his dad was desperately trying to explain that Lord Gorlock WAS his name, albeit his online persona haha

his cold weather jacket still has blood stains on it.

That's p. badass.
Imagine the potential.
"What happened to your jacket?!"
"I was skiing and a polar bear attacked me."

God help me to never start referring to myself as Omnithea IRL. Batman is acceptable.

i don't get this thing in movies where this guy and girl are dating and one of them will tell the other "i love you!" and the other will get all shocked and stuff

why is that a shock? aren't they already in love since they're dating?

is that just something movies make up to make drama or is it like that in real life?

i don't get it

It probably has to do with the ploy on "whoever is shocked actually doesn't love them back/didn't see it as a commitment/doesn't understand the concept of 'dating'/some other plot device that will eventually drive the entire romantic comedy."

Because you can't have a romantic comedy built around a mututal problem...it always has to be "one of the wo is a dirtbag and needs to fix it."

A lot of people around where I am see the concept of "dating" as hanging out with a person to see what you think about them. It's rather silly, but it's like you move into the "going out" stage if the pair of you are willing to call each other a boyfriend or a girlfriend.

Finding out someone likes you let alone loves you comes as a shock to some people.

Sometimes its a bit hard to comprehend your own feelings for another person, let along comprehend theirs for yourself.

I guess this is why people like to say "Are you sure...?" when it comes down to goopy feelings that they don't want to get hurt over because its very easy to miscommunication feelings between two people.

There's no problem with dating someone you don't completely love. Many times, in fact, relationships are sparked by mutual attraction, and that can eventually turn into love. It can take different amounts of time for different people. One person in the relationship may only take a little time to fall in love, while the other person might take more time to make that decision, or for that love to formulate. People might feel shocked or uncomfortable if the person says they love them because they might not have known that their feelings ran that deep, or they haven't yet come to the conclusion that they feel the same way.

It's not just a thing that happens in movies, is what I'm trying to say I guess. Different people have different kinds of relationships and approaches on the topic of love, and their pursuit of it.

Which is why you start with "you don't smell as bad as others", move up to "you're cute", "I like you", "I like like you", and finally "I'm in lesbians with you".

You say love to your sweetie just before you dramatically dive at the monster wielding a magic sword while an inspirational song plays in the background. At no other time is the word appropriate.
