It's not really uncommon, and there's nothing wrong with that. Men are different from women - unless they're using stimulation pills, they usually can't go more than once without needing a small break. Some women are that way, too (hypersensitivity after orgasming). It depends, but most guys I know like it when women can go more than once. I'm surprised your ex would get frustrated just because you could keep going - it's not something guys should be ashamed about. Even disregarding gender, everyone's different.
