Re: TMI & NSFW Thread: Augmented Edition (Heavily Moderated)
I've have my wisdom teeth removed but all my other organs are still in their original packaging. Makes me wonder if one day when I have to go under for something if I should just get it all taken out.

No. Your body is an advent calendar. Things get taken out one at a time. Twice if you forget about it.

I kid, mostly.
Worst thing medicinally that has ever happened to me was I hairline cracked my wrist and it was in a soft cast for about a month. Now it makes crack-y noises if I move it right.
Edit:
Ugh, sleep is for the weak! And the ones that can type properly!
In other news, I think I have a cyst (or something) right below my bra line. I also have a zit on my lower eyelid. Both hurt like a son of a bitch.

Re: TMI & NSFW Thread: Augmented Edition (Heavily Moderated)
squeeze it a little bit (not a lot of pressure). If it's springy, it's probably some kind of cyst. If it doesn't give and seems solid, it's probably something you need to see a doctor about.
Re: TMI & NSFW Thread: Augmented Edition (Heavily Moderated)
Cysts can be solid. I had surgery to remove one that was the size of (and dense as) a golf ball from within my wrist, right in the hollow on the back.
Stuff goes here later.

Re: TMI & NSFW Thread: Augmented Edition (Heavily Moderated)
Yes, but generally when they're solid, doctors more consider them growths or masses, and surgery is necessary because they won't readily go away on their own. And if it's hard, most doctor's advise to "consider the worst" to encourage people to get treatment ASAP.
If it's squishy, it's for sure a cyst, and it should go away on its own when the fluid is drained out by the body working to get rid of it.

They actually tried three times to remove this solid cyst, including the surgery. The first was massaging it until they felt it break up. The second was finding out it hadn't actually broken up so they numbed my wrist and lanced it several times before massaging again. Third was when it came back again and they straight-up removed it through surgery. I still have a chunk in a vial.

I was really dehydrated today so someone recommended I drink more water. I had a 1.2L bottle with me that I kept on taking gulps out for the next 3 hours. I ended up drinking so much that I threw it all up, making me even more dehydrated.

I am a camel when it comes to water.
I drink it a liter at a time, guzzling it, and I'm perfectly fine until I start getting dehydrated again.
Sometimes I feel just slightly woozy, but I'm never like out and out sick over it.
My mom doesn't understand how I do it.

They want you to do them slowly so excessive movement doesn't rupture your stitches.Kamak wrote:I did the laps, they just wanted me to do them slowly "just in case".Mete wrote:Mario Party: more important than walking

I've gotten things like this before. They go away with time, I just need to leave it be. Doesn't hurt as much today.Kamak wrote:squeeze it a little bit (not a lot of pressure). The main thing is it's just in a weird spot. Almost constantly getting rubbed by my bra probably doesn't help.

Re: TMI & NSFW Thread: Augmented Edition (Heavily Moderated)
I wasn't allowed out of bed until about 3 weeks after surgery. At that point a combination of double anathesia and inactivity/atrophy made it hard to walk so I had to "relearn" in a sense, using the IV pole. The problem was that I didn't have the stamina but I did have the momentum, and they were more worried about me falling over. But if I took it slowly, I'd have ended up resting more often and it'd have taken me over an hour to do the laps when I could do them in 15-20 minutes.Syobon wrote:They want you to do them slowly so excessive movement doesn't rupture your stitches.Kamak wrote:I did the laps, they just wanted me to do them slowly "just in case".Mete wrote:Mario Party: more important than walking
They were being cautious, but I wasn't going to do anything that would fuck me up.

If I can find a camera around here I'll take a picture of it and the piece of eardrum from that particular surgery.
I got these things because I was originally going to view them under a microscope, then my school wouldn't let me do it.
