I dunno about special lady blood, but I've had nosebleeds in the shower before and everything seems to end up coated with a small layer of bloodwater, so it kinda depends on how much blood you want all over the shower.

Well, even if I did use tampons, I would take it out. It's better to get it cleaned out and avoid infection than let it fester.

Yeah I like attempting to clean it out little bit in the shower. just the outside part though, no douching

Let it flow. Periods are not a constant stream of blood, and unless you have a very, very heavy flow the water will dilute the blood and lining so that it isn't very noticeable. Personally there's more blood in the very beginning when washing off dried blood; there's almost nothing for the rest of the shower.

Like others have said it's also important to change tampons regularly, and I would not be comfortable keeping a tampon inside in such a wet environment. Gotta take care of yo' vajayjay and try to prevent infections. It would also be harder to clean with a tampon in the way, but that might just be me.



Also I've heard fairly bad things about douching.

Speaking of periods

I guess mine decided to take a vacation last month but now its back, all jetlagged and grumpy.

the vagina is the only self-cleaning body part - there's a delicate pH balance in there that chemicals like soap really fucks up. you know that fishy smell? that's caused by an imbalance of chemicals. you aren't really supposed to use soap or anything like that (especially douches!!) on your lady bits. all you need to do is kinda....use your hands to get in the little crevices and folds with some water and that's it. douching with plain water is fine as far as i can tell if you're on your period and just want a clean feeling, but the ones you buy at a store are a no no.


also relevant to the question, it depends. if i JUST changed tampons i'll leave it in but usually i'll have to pee before showering anyway so i'll take it out. sometimes leaving it in when you shower like...soaks the tampon with water and it won't absorb the "blood" as well? so i usually end up changing sooner than normal anyway.

I use pads. i dont really like the idea of tampons simply because if im busy im likely to forget.

So when i shower I usually just bend over and let the water run over my down there to wash all the blood and stuff away. makes my period go by a little faster because there's less to go into the pad after im cleaned up.

actually no-poo is kind of a new thing but i've known people have great results with it. i think they use dry shampoos though? i'm not really informed about it. not something i'm willing to try for myself though i do use organic shampoos due to skin allergies.

I love head and shoulders. the anti itch stuff because I have a dry scalp.

I should looking into that stuff. My scalp is so flaky.

but the point is supposed to be that it stops making so much grease because you aren't stripping it of it's grease everyday

Some people also have naturally oily hair where nothing they do could possibly help

Yeeep, that's me. Only takes about half a day before it looks like shit.
