How about we listen to someone who has some nice explanations on the subject.
In the end it's all about your own feelings and thoughts on the matter of course. I, for example, don't think anyone can lose their virginity through non-consensual intercourse.

Wait, what?
extremely religious parents :D and you're like 90% more likely to get a UTI from sex than anything else so when i got a uti last year they immediately got suspicious ugh
and yeah really your virginity and when you feel its lost is up to you. i agree that virginity is not lost if you're raped - it should only be given to someone with your permisson. my fiance was actually fairly conflicted about this as he had a not entirely consensual one night stand before we met and in his mind he still felt like a virgin because he really didn't get any pleasure from the experience and really regretted letting it happen. he considers me his REAL first time since we both agreed to do it with all our cognitive abilities intact.
Speaking purely from a physiological standpoint - I personally thought that a woman lost her virginity when her hymen (the partial covering of the vagina) was torn - so that probably means that a woman can lose her virginity to a dildo.
On a similar level it could be argued that a man loses his virginity when he 'pops his cherry' for the first time (i.e. when the glans breaks fully free of the foreskin - but for guys who are circumcised that just doesn't happen).
Losing one's virginity from a psychological standpoint is different though - I suppose in that way it could be compared to losing one's innocence?
Uhh, the state of the hymen is actually completely unrelated to whether somebody has had sex or not.
And I...I just have no fucking clue what you mean by "when the glans breaks fully free of the foreskin". I have foreskin and I'm pretty certain that's not supposed to happen, and if it did, you should be calling an ambulance.

Not necessarily from a scientific standpoint.
There are even cosmetic procedures where flipped out loonies with too much cheddar have their hymens 'reconstructed' because they "Want to feel like a virgin again."

I'm really not too keen on drawing a diagram to explain this so I'll try to use words:
When you're born the skin of the foreskin has a tight aperture to keep the glans covered. Through um - 'extended use' - or intercourse, the foreskin's tightness is degraded allowing freer 'retraction' of the foreskin - that's what I meant.
If it doesn't happen to other people why does the term 'pop your cherry' even exist?
Though there have been documented cases of guys actually tearing their foreskin when they first have sex - but they must have been doing it wrong.
Well I don't generally make a point of looking at other guy's dicks or asking them about the life story of their foreskin so I can only offer up limited information on the subject.

you can break your hymen by doing something like riding a horse or like falling hard while playing soccer or another sport like that. happens a lot - it happened to me. i rode horses, often bareback, and yeah i got bounced a little too high and when i landed it hurt like fuck and i bled for a while actually and when i inspected myself later there was a tear.
and sometimes the hymen never tears at all, only stretches. the only reason it's considered a way to tell if someone's a virgin or not is because back when it mattered girls weren't allowed to do anything but sit around or clean so they never had the opportunity to tear their hymen any other way than sex.
also, bleeding after sex means little too haha. when i lost my virginity i didn't bleed (i did every other time afterwards for a while, but that's another story.) couples would often use animal blood to stain the sheets after their wedding night so they'd have "proof" that they consummated their marriage.
