When has voting no lynch ever really been a good idea? I'm not saying this to sway anyone one way or the other, I'm legitimately asking. Has it ever been the best course of action?

It's always proven to be better than killing an innocent.Darkin wrote:When has voting no lynch ever really been a good idea? I'm not saying this to sway anyone one way or the other, I'm legitimately asking. Has it ever been the best course of action?
Why would no lynch be a bad thing, exactly?

Re: Double Bacon Whopper Mafia! DAY 1
Easy Mafia kill? I mean, that's just the first thing. Even hitting an innocent would technically be better than sitting on our thumbs while the mafia kill us. I'm clearly in the minority here, but I'm just wondering if we're thinking this through before blindly bandwagoning.electronic goat wrote:It's always proven to be better than killing an innocent.Darkin wrote:When has voting no lynch ever really been a good idea? Re: Double Bacon Whopper Mafia! DAY 1
It's hard to say. There's no way to know unless you try for a lynch and hit the wrong guy.
I generally don't like going no lynch just because nobody ever puts much thought into it. We at least could look at each other's posts to see if anyone is acting weird.
That being said, I don't see much going on at this point. We don't know who tied up Reyo, and chances are the mafias are trying to "lay low" for a while and not draw much attention to themselves. There are plenty of night actions that could happen later on that might give us more to work on, but for now we don't have much. Even though we lost one power role, there are still quite a few town-sided power roles left to work with.

Re: Double Bacon Whopper Mafia! DAY 1
No lynch is good for now because evidence that someone is mafia doesn't really become painfully obvious until a couple days in anyway.
Unless you'd like to scmhunt for us there's not really anything telling us that any one guy is more mafia than anyone else. Besides, randomly lynching someone now, and having it turn out to be a villager, only puts more of the advantage into the mafia's hands, and risks putting suspicion on another townie who was just unlucky in who he decided to lynch.

Re: Double Bacon Whopper Mafia! DAY 1
First of all, there is no "easy mafia kill". There is no evidence so far, and it seems there is very little suspicious behavior. We have nothing that would make killing a member of the mafia "easy" for us.Darkin wrote:Easy Mafia kill? I mean, that's just the first thing. Secondly, why would hitting an innocent be in any way better than a day 1 No Lynch vote? There's nothing on the table, and no one wants to make the first lynch vote; not even you, who seems to be thinking in a very aggressive manner. There's only three mafia members out there (4 if you count the traitor), so if we do an actual random lynch vote (a near impossibility with four people attempting to sway the vote or claim an innocent as random) then we only have a 25% (33%) chance to hit someone. If you honestly think that's going to be an easy kill, then it's in your power to take the chances, but it's a high risk (especially considering possible vote swaying) and 2 innocent kills is way worse than 1 innocent kill.

Re: Double Bacon Whopper Mafia! DAY 1
This makes sense. Not only is there the fairly big chance of hitting a villager, if we do hit a villager, whoever suggested the lynch looks suspicious, and while there's a chance the mafia might get greedy and try to take out another villager with a lynch, that might not be the case and we'd be digging ourselves into a hole.Reyo wrote:No lynch is good for now because evidence that someone is mafia doesn't really become painfully obvious until a couple days in anyway.

I'm going to go ahead and vote No Lynch. Hopefully we can make some sense of things tomorrow, so we don't get too behind.

Re: Double Bacon Whopper Mafia! NIGHT 2
Okay, since I'm a dumbass and thought we had 13 people when we really had 12 (now 11 with Guyperson dead), majority is 6 votes, which I believe we just got:
VOTES SO FAR:
Reyo: NL
Runes: NL
Fuzznut: NL
EGoat: NL
Bacon: NL
Saint: NL
No Lynch, Lyncher, Lynch-sided was hung out to dry.
Wait that's not a player. How boring.
