Maybe she's old enough in years, yeah. Not to be rude, but I do feel she might not be experienced enough in terms of world experience and independence. She's got a lot of emotional and developmental issues (in part maybe caused by her mom/upbringing, to be fair) and she should probably work on getting those sorts of things sorted out and move out of her house before approaching dating.

'love' is a strong word to use, especially if you have to tack on a psyduck. You should take some time to consider what 'love' means to you if you plan on using that word to refer to other human beings.

Sorry to say it, but if just one person's comment can make you start to doubt it, then it's probably not love.

That's not to say you having feelings for the guy isn't a good thing though. It's good that you like someone.

It's possible to like a person without it being full blown 'love'

Let me demonstrate:

Liking someone: 'Hey dude, you're funny and interesting and you got a cute face, would you like to spend some more time together and see how this goes?'

Loving someone: 'I've known you for a while now and I feel a very strong connection. There is no one I'd rather be with than you. I've become a better person and I promise to become better still. "

Nothing wrong with just liking someone, it's actually a natural step before loving them.
But you have a problem with telling yourself you're in love before you even like them.

That's still infatuation. She already said love is a strong word, if you feel interested in someone this way, then, well, you're exactly that. Actual love takes time to develop, it's not like in the media - shocking, I know.
