Unless you know somebody and have established some kind of friendship with them then I don't think any kind of sexual joke, remark, or conversation topic is appropriate. And even then it's something I would ask if they were okay talking about, but even so it's a really weird subject to be on unless you're super comfortable with that person.

Also Marcato it might simply be a case of these people not being overly interested in you, or some sort of mixup of intentions. Thing is it just happens sometimes, it isn't necessarily you doing something wrong, so you really shouldn't beat yourself up over it.

The more negative you are about your situation, the less inclined I am to sympathize with you.

A girl's affection is not a prize to be won, and you don't need a girlfriend to be pop flyin' in life. If she seems uncomfortable around you, leave her alone for a bit. Most girls can tell when you're coming on to them.

Ok, first of all, that's just a bad attitude to have, and if you're always bagging on yourself irl, that could be why people might tend to distance themselves from you. Secondly, how many people have done this to you?

This isn't about getting her to like me, it's that I'm so sick and tired of making girls uncomfortable for no discernible reason when I'm just trying to get to know them better.

sometimes it doesn't even amount to what you're doing is right or wrong. personally i get nervous around people i don't know a lot, especially if they sit close to me. if they try to hold a conversation with me i just get really awkward and try to end it quickly. it's not necessarily something you're doing. a girlfriend isn't going to flock into your arms like some angel from heaven. just be nice and give her space, especially if you don't know her, and if she wants to talk to you she'll talk to you.

I also think you should just ask them straight out if there's something about you that bothers them. Then you can just clear up any misconceptions they might have. The two minutes of awkwardness will be worth it in the long run.
