Oh trust me honey, I've been fighting with my sexuality for about 6 years until I was comfortable enough to say "I think I'm gay" with any certainty. It doesn't just snap for everyone, and especially if you're young, shit can be confusing and there can be bad choices. Your heart might say to dive in now, but it can be fickle. I had a crush moment a couple of months ago, but in a few days, it passed. I met someone nice tonight too, but I'm waiting to see how I feel.
Romance in movies is all about taking a leap of faith and hoping things work out, and in their case, it almost always does. But outside of movies, leaps of faith should be done after careful consideration. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, but also venturing down wrong paths gains nothing either.
Most of all, leave no regrets in your choice.

I tend to use honey a lot more IRL than online, IDK why, maybe it's more ambiguous/prone to be taken sarcastically or something.
Anyways, you also asked somewhere about coming out. If you determine you're gay, it's best to come out to a neutral party that you can trust not to out you and who will be supportive. This may be a parent, friend, teacher, etc. However, I wouldn't come out to a crush first as that might get weird if you tell them first then start flirting or whatnot.

D'aww.
But, no. I'm just odd. My friends notice I say honey, and they joke that I'm a sassy black woman in a monotone white man's body. This was even back in high school. I think it's silly though. Honey's just a nice word to use.
Now sweetie on the other hand, fuck that noise.

Later that night, I started feeling something I had never felt before. I had a huge knot in my stomach, my heart was beating incredibly fast, and he was the only thing on my mind. I had never been like this for anyone/thing else; I'm not sure, but I think it might be love.
If it isn't, somebody please explain to me why I'm wide awake at ~2:00 AM telling you about him. Please, I'd love to see an explanation.
This is the biggest red flag for me.
You are young and talking about love towards someone you have just met, while also considering a sexuality which is new, exciting, frightening, and all those other jumbled emotions. Step on the brakes and backpedal a bit. Even in friendships, people tend to go overboard - talk all day and all night, get to know each other, and so on. Time is the biggest test of them all. Do you talk as much? Do you still feel the same way you did in the beginning?
Give things time.

Exactly. You'd be amazed sometimes how quickly some crushes can fizzle when unprovoked.
It's generally good to give things a bare minimum of a week to stew before doing anything.

Like Tales!
What's wrong with sweetie? My friend uses sweetie.
I'm not good with terms of endearment myself. I'll call my partner 'baby' but sometimes I do it in a patronising manner so it's not very sweet after all. I'm not good with romance-words.
