Ahahaha, yeah they'd so kill me if I'm rude and snarky. But yeah, I've been addressing their concerns in a (I hope) mature manner. I think it'll take a long time for them to soften up to this idea, but for the most part I think they might never be accepting of this? Which is pretty ridonkulous: just because someone didn't go to college, or because I met them online doesn't mean they're bad. I've already pointed out to them that I've met a fair share of bad people and without Noff I would've never seen that they weren't good to be around.

But yes, Obnosim, they're worried about me being manipulated. I understand cause internet dating is a pretty new thing, and they always hear stories of how young girls get taken away, but I'm trying hard to be responsible and be seen in a good light in things they take note on. (i.e. grades, college stuff, helping out around the house) It feels odd trying to curry favor using childish tactics, yet trying to be seen as an adult. "If I do all my chores, then can I date him??" Haha.

Oh, and I know Willow. "Castle Laws" seems practically barbaric to me. I get a tiny bit worried cause my uncle's a black belt, and my Dad has a gun, but it's not like something extreme will happen if he ever gets the chance to come down.

Angelic, have you considered bringing Noff to meet your parents?

Take things slow as far as dropping hints about how great he is and how well he treats you - share the moments that are special between you two - substantive ones - and they may realize that this is more than just a young fling type of relationship. Once they see that your relationship is founded on substance over frivolity, try to invite Noff to meet you and your parents at a neutral location - i.e. a coffee shop or a restaurant for dinner. I introduced Tuxedo Mask to my parents in this manner, and now they love him and want him to visit all the time.

This is only one method, of course, and you certainly can't hope to change their minds if they're too set in their own thinking. My point is, why not try chipping away at their stubbornness, bit by bit, and just see what happens? Be the optimist! Your parents will never stop loving you (nor will your aunt or uncle), and Noff won't like you any less for trying.

So, go for it - with caution! :)

Haha, I am alive! How've you been?

But to stay on topic, I'll share my dating progress...

Still with that Russian guy I met at my uni's library. We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary in December, and we're still very much in love. He is smart, funny, caring, and makes me feel very safe. I'm one lucky girl.

So there is this girl and I have good hopes about her. My best friend's fiance introduced us and we have kinda hit it off ever since. I don't know if anything will happen, what with distance and school, but one can dream. She's pretty great.

So last night the girl that I've been talking about in my previous post texted me and told me she's dating one of the other guys that shes been messing around with. I deleted her number and all calls from her so I do not have any trace of her number. I am completely done with her. Its left me feeling worthless. Why does she only go for guys that are assholes to her?

Well yeah removing someone from your life completely just because they're not mackin on you kind of counts as an asshole move

You need to adjust your perspective on this

Yeah because being upset at someone who gave numerous signs of interest and took sexual advantage of him is so selfish and horrible.
It's like you people have never been in a relationship or had feelings. People feel sad when their romantic attempts work out even if the other party isn't a jerk. Your responses are disgusting.

I wasn't responding to the failed relationship, I was responding to the 'why does she only go for assholes'.

it's still not healthy to assume that all other guys involved with this girl except himself are the arseholes. They could be like himself. Poor saps with poor judgement.

I have a friend who used to go after all the 'broken' girls. White knighting all over their shit. Insisting all the other guys were at fault.
Took ages before he realised that he just chose women who will always complain about the men in their lives.

All in all it was a cluster of poor judgement.
