Re: Fried Pig General
Can't we all just eat our own bacon and be thankful
arguing is just wasting time that we could be using to eat more bacon

No, we must figure out who is wrong and make sure they know it.
They must be shamed.

did you even read my postGalaxy Man wrote:thus "usually"The Idiotic Oracle wrote: thicker bacon doesnt always come from the butcher
thick bacon USUALLY comes packaged just like thin bacon, sold by the same brands.
seriously, this just seems like its you being really elitist because you can afford to go to a butcher and not a supermarket for your pig belly meat. good for you!!!!! do you want a fucking cookie for having more cheddar than me??
its bacon. its pig belly meat. its a given that itll taste different coming from a butcher, but you know, if the butcher thin-sliced it, it would taste the same as the thick bacon he sliced. wow. amazing. and store bought bacon? all tastes the same, regardless of thickness. get off your high horse and stop being a dick about fancy bacon.

Re: Fried Pig General
Are we seriously calling people elitist over their taste in bacon now?
Wow. I think I'm going to bed.

Re: Fried Pig General
complaining about how people dont buy thickly sliced meat directly from a butcher in a thread meant to be fun is elitist, yes

Re: Fried Pig General
I remember eating brisket style bacon once.
Was really good and not overly salty. (I think they soaked them to take some of the saltiness out).
But bacon is almost always good as long as it's not limp as a noodle or crunchy.

How about, let's all fucking agree that bacon is just strips of shitty pig meat, no matter how you slice it, not every fucking person will like it, and that pigs on a spit are the only way to fucking eat pigs.

Re: Fried Pig General
I think it all depends on how the bacon is made.
I for one prefer crispy bacon. It breaks apart and dissolves in your mouth, and there is 3000x the amount of flavor then most chewy bacon. Yet, some people prefer chewy bacon.

This amount of flavor would probably kill you.Blake wrote:and there is 3000x the amount of flavor then most chewy bacon.
Also, I don't really have much of a preference either way. As long as it isn't so unchewy it's inedible, and as long as it's not burnt, I like bacon.

Re: Fried Pig General
see i disagree, i feel like the more you cook it, the more the flavor dissipates, thus chewy bacon has far more flavor than crunchy bacon-chipsBlake wrote:I think it all depends on how the bacon is made.

If you want crispy bacon, go eat a salad. that is what crispy bacon is for.

Re: Fried Pig General
I'm allergic to a lot of the nitrates that they add to bacon (part of why I can only eat kosher hot dogs), so it's either special unprocessed bacon or a huge itchy rash for me.
