[~You can make a character whenever, I'm always accepting new players. Your character will just have to insert itself into something if you want to make some RP happen. And it doesn't even have to be in the first post, you can enter an event in the second one. Just PM me your character and I'll get it up sometime. I don't guarantee it to be up immediately because I have work, but it will be put up sometime tonight.]

Zephiur zipped across the land all night, and when the first crack of the sun came up, he slowed down a bit. He was halfway across the flatlands known as the Charred Plain, where the earth was cracked and dry, and there was little plant life save for desert shrubs and a number of cacti. It was a desert, but without the sand dunes normally attributed to a desert. Mekanos lay by the mountains to the north, where the temperature is slightly more mild, but the winters especially are harsh due to the mountains' accumulation of snow. The Charred Plain extends even more east until the temperature starts dropping to more coastal climates. On the southern coast of Trejin, which lies on the northern side of the Lamir Bay that gives Trejin its signature crescent shape, is the town of Hilcover, or at least what remains of it: now known as the Dead Lands, where barren earth gives way to ashen landscape and a strange aura emanates from within. To the far south is the Marshlands, where many have braved the bandits and other ambush parties to create the southeastern port city of Kaiom. There is also an old tower that nobody pays any mind to in the southern marshes; it has been overgrown and long abandoned. The only structure east of Mekanos is a lighthouse that has been there for as long as anyone can remember. In the midwestern section of Trejin lies the Raesor Republic, within the Raesor Highlands. This is one of the major trade capitals of Trejin, and as such is struggling for power against Mekanos, Rawling, and Kaiom to be named the true Capital of Trejin.

As Zephiur let his mind wander off to the geography and politics of Trejin, he soon lost his direction and was only shaken out of his thoughts by the drastic change in landscape. He had entered the Dead Lands.

Tanner awoke, scanning the skies for... anything to tell him what to do, instead finding a crisp summer day awaiting him. He walked towards the showers, waiting in line to get the smell of shame and... was that onions???? off of him. He had only just finished when someone handed him special orders to investigate problems in the dead lands.

But, sir! the dead lands are...well... DEAD, what could be out the-

YOU LISTEN UP AND LISTEN GOOD SOLDIER, THE GENERAL MAY HAVE MADE YOU A CAPTAIN, BUT I. AM. YOUR. MAJOR. YOU WILL LISTEN TO MY ORDERS, INVESTIGATE THE DEAD LANDS. REPORT BACK TO ME. NO QUESTIONS.

yessir...

Tanner fumbled in his pocket once he was out of sight, and found his friend's heliomailer. ripped the note off to reveal a small reservoir, with a small amount of candle oil in it. He poured a little oil from the candle next to him, rewrote the note, and hoped it would reach Zeph with little damage.
Zeph, I have been given orders to investigate the dead lands, A number of disturbances have been reported there, and I'm under orders. also I'm now a Captian, somehow, I will attempt to give you more information as I find it.

Garrett awoke to the sound of his stomach grumbling. He had a pretty good sleep, and if he wasn't this hungry, he'd would've been asleep the whole day. Garrett hopped up out of his bed, and noticed Martin staring out the window. Garrett looked at his own window. The scenery outside was calming. Buuuut not enough to calm Garrett's stomach.

"Oi! Martin! When d'ya think we get our food?"

"Hm." Pellendro grunted thoughtfully. "Immense power", you say? Oh, do tell. The description was sufficient to allow form a few assumptions about his new acquaintance. "Elements incarnate" implied power, to be sure, but in its more primal form: relatively ill-harnessed, unrefined. Roil's borderline hostile countenance earlier reinforced his mental image of a walking hurricane, which may possibly not have been too far from the mark. Still...such a description marked him strongly as a very unique individual. It was, naturally, too early to begin gauging the newcomer's strength with any specific reliability, but it was a start.

"Very well, Roil, Reaper of Wind." he said aloud, bowing slightly. "My name is Pellendro. I am largely unacquainted with...alternate means of travel, but I think it likely we may find others better suited. As fortune presents, my own purposes are largely composed of traveling at the moment. Perhaps in concert we will find what we seek, you and I."

Martin heard Garrett's question. "Try asking the guard, I only came here yesterday." Was his answer. Martin didn't like prison, the cells were tiny, the food was disgusting and the place was boring. "I'm not going survive here Viktor." He told Viktor.

"You will." Responded Viktor. "It's not like your gonna try and break out of prison."

Martin knew there would be a prison break but he just didn't know when. Martin was impatient, he didn't want to wait. Martin began formulating a plan to get himself out of prison.

"I'm right on time!" Chef Forté said, "I see I have found our jetpack!"

"Oh yes!" responded Coming-Through-the-Door Forté, "It was still near the casino, as expected. My, that smells delicious!"

"Even better the second time, as you will eventually find out!" laughed Chef Forté, "Now get inside before Lieutenant Simmons, Galiena and our other guests get here!"
Jade stared in silence at the two Fortes. Simmons? OTHER guests??
"Muh..." that meant he should probably get back and get dressed.

Then there was another knock at the door. Jade froze. "daisies."

Viktor nodded and then turned to address the newcomer. "You'll be lucky if you even get scraps or leftovers. These guards aren't about comforts, friend." He shook his head. "No, siree.. It's a miracle they even give us that nasty water." he gestured at the obviously aged pitchers.

Meanwhile...

Zephiur, once again lost, started wandering the ashen temporal anomaly known as the Dead Lands. After a fair amount of time, maybe twenty minutes, he saw two figures in the distance and kicked on the jets, propelling him forward until he was a few yards away, then walked the rest of the distance. They didn't seem hostile but he knew he had to be careful. At the present time his mechanical arm was still strapped to his back, so he waved them down with his right arm. "Heya.." he started cautiously, trying to gauge the two's reactions before they occurred so he knew whether to run or stay. Since he was only one-armed, he would be no good in a fight, so that was out of the question unless they were allergic to fire or something.

[~Also, I responded to Tales in his character PM with something that would probably interest you all as well. I've added it to the second post before the Character List.]

Martin watched a guard pass by the cell several times, he checked the time whenever he passed. "Every 5 minutes." A smile started to appear on his face. It was only when a ruckus caused by another couple of cellmates where he started to really get a plan going. One of prisoners suffered a stroke, the guard opened the cage and dragged him off to someplace.

"Hey Vic." The old man looked towards Martin. "I think I know how to get out of this dump."

Viktor quirked a brow. "What kind of tomfoolery are you planning?" he asked, looking around to make sure the guard wasn't around to overhear.

[~Here's how I imagine the cells, just for fun]

Without so much as a second thought, Chef Forté opened the door revealing an attractive blonde woman in a uniform similar to his. She was standing at attention and saluting him.

"Lieutenant Simmons reporting for... who is that?" the woman said, pointing and staring at Jade, who was not nearly ready for visitors of her sort.

"He's our host!" responded Chef Forté gesturing the the man that really could do without more gesturing, "Close your jaw, Lieutenant! You are trying to make a good first impression!

"Sir! Yes Sir!" She replied, still not taking her eyes off the now socially awkward property owner and reluctant party host.

Upon seeing Jade's current attire, or lack there of, Not Chef Forté spoke up, "Jade! You have a lady present! This is no time for gallivanting about in your undergarments! Put some pants on at least, my good fellow!"

[I'm actually basing this plan on Martin and Viktor being in the same cell]

"Here's what I've come up with. At night I want you to lay on the ground and hold your breath. I shake the bars and yell for help, I'll lie and say you had a heart attack. When the guard comes in to check on you I take this" Martin checked to see if the guard was close by. When the coast was clear he grabbed a part of an iron bar and slid it it out of its place. "And knock him out."

"How did you do that with the bar?" Asked Viktor

"Powers." Viktor nodded. Martin slid the pole into place. "Then I switch clothes with him. Then I get a uniform for you and we walk out of here. Before they realize what happened we'll be out of the city."

Viktor scratched his goatee. "By Temporos himself, that is brilliant." He said, enthused but keeping calm so the guards don't know what's up.
