The good Captain burst through the burning ceiling into the flaming room below. Sure enough, there were two serving girls huddled together in a corner.

"Citizens! Quickly! I will get you out of here!" he shouted as he gestured for them to follow. He could just barely hear voices coming from around him, but couldn't make out exactly what they were saying. Frightened and confused, the two carefully made their way to his side. He led them to the spot directly under the whole in the roof and commanded, "HOLD ON!" They clung to his body tightly as he activated his jet pack and soared straight out of the burning building. He landed just outside and deposited the two stunned ladies outside. He looked at the heat gauge on his jet pack. It was almost ready to overheat! He couldn't risk that! It would be far too dangerous. He glanced over at Galiena, still frozen in fear. Shrugging, Forté took off his jet pack and turned the safety on. He then picked up the immobile girls as though she was a mannequin and propped her up against a tree a safe distance away. "You're very important to my timeline, young lady. Make sure nothing happens to this," he said, leaning his jet pack against the tree, "And make sure you follow Jade!"

He ran back into the burning building to save some more lives.

The weredog growled something unintelligible before it set the person he had been carrying down, and looked up at Eris and Galiena, who were still a decent distance away. The fur sank back into his skin, his hair lightened and tamed down, muscles got smaller, and pigment washed into his skin. Jade began to cough up some black phlegm, and got up to his knees. He lurched over a bit, and retched on the ground. Groaning a little, he sat back, wiping his mouth off. "Gross..." Jade mumbled, shakily getting to his feet, lifting the woman over his back. It seemed he had some burns, but the fur from the weredog managed to help him avoid anything too severe. "Gotta make sure this one gets attention," he muttered as he approached the two observers. He knit his eyebrows when he saw Galiena staring at the ground. Had the fire scared her, he wondered?

"Galiena?" he asked, laying a the hand the jetpack she had acquired. "You okay?"

Without looking up, Galiena abruptly turned away from Jade. "I'm fine," she said roughly. "Nothing's wrong. The smoke just made my eyes sting a little, is all." She glanced at the jetpack the odd man had set down beside her. "...what was that all about?" she wondered. He'd babbled some nonsense about timelines and following Jade--did he know Jade? That seemed like the only way he could have known his name.
She looked back up at Jade and folded her arms. "Who was that man?" she asked. "He knew your name."

"Who?" Jade looked behind Galiena. "I don't know what you're talking about...?" He seemed a little nervous. Jade might have chalked it up to mistaken identity, if knowledge of his name wasn't mentioned. "I don't know what you mean..."

Captain Forté burst out of a window, a blaze roaring behind him and a small child clutched in his arms. What such a small child was doing in a casino was beyond him. He handed the child to its mother and noticed Jade on the ground. "Jade!" he called, "Jade!"

The young man looked up and called back, "What? How do you know my name?"

The fire began to roar louder and louder. Forté could still see someone inside, a beam ready to fall on him. He turned quickly to Jade and called back, "I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE!"

"What?" asked Jade, dizzy and not able to hear properly.

"I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE! YOU NEED TO GO TO THE-" Forté's 80's movie reference was cut short as he heard cracking behind him. With feline grace he leaped into the inferno, out of sight of everyone else. A few moments later, the civilian's burning, yet still living, body was thrown from the building. The strange gold and green man did not come out, however...

[how did you know back to the future was my favorite movie]

"What the...hell was that??" Jade asked, bewildered from the strange man yelling his name, and also at the sight of someone bodaciously flying out of the casino. "Oh, shit! is he still--" Without much hesitation, he set the woman he was dragging back on the ground, then took off his vest, trying to put out the fire as well as drag the new man away from the crumbling building. "Hey, can you hear me? Are you okay?"
The patron was coughing and mostly limp, but still conscious, and he nodded, glancing up at him in a daze. The burns through his clothes meant Jade had to be careful in assisting this person. "I think ambulances will be here soon, but we should get these two some help." The cave could wait. "...could probably also get this checked too," he added as an afterthought to a burn on his left hand. "Can you help me with her?"
If the strange man gave her that jetpack, if he was still alive later, he'd probably want it back. Jade took it by the straps, carrying it and the man on his shoulder.

[~Just a quick note, it's considered poor form to control another player-character's actions. I haven't seen any major control grabs but I just thought I'd warn you]

[I'm so sorry. I was just trying to make my time loops make sense. I didn't mean to push it too far.]

Galiena blinked and looked down at the woman Jade had been carrying. "You'll handle both the pack and him?" she asked Jade, glancing at the man he had over his shoulder. "All right. Let's hurry and get them to a doctor." Her gaze drifted briefly to the burning building, but she could barely look at the flames without shivering. She had been in that building just a short while ago--she might have still been in there now. "Do you..." she cleared her throat and picked up the other woman, holding her in a fireman's carry. "Do you think that other man will be all right?"

"He's fine," said Eris. "He disappeared shortly after entering the building, and I don't mean died."

"How do you know...?" Jade asked in genuine curiosity, before shrugging it off. "Well anyway, hopefully that's true. I'd rather not lug this thing around forever." Jade turned to look at Eris, his eyes reddened by the irritating smoke. "Are you staying here, or...?" he asked, shifting his weight so he could carry the man more comfortably.

"No," said Eris. "This is going to be news before long and the trail may go cold if I don't get on it right away. I will not be involving law enforcement anymore if this is the behavior they display. Innocents killed, what a disgrace."
