The girl that had gone missing has had her body turn up. She had committed suicide in the lake.

This is a completely and utterly heartbreaking event, and I've had a hard time not crying every time I think about it.

There are certain unnamed things that just deeply unsettle me when I read about them or something, and often it'll haunt me the rest of the day. I guess you'd call that a trigger, but its not even that those things happened to me or bring up any experiences I've had, just that the image is almost burned into my mind.

Like, if I could just forget about it and move on with my day, great. But I'll probably keep thinking about it even though I don't want to.

Wow, I came home from high school and suddenly huge wave of nostalgia. Waking up to some of my sister's rock music through her old iHome wasn't something I expected to miss. This one guy, Josh, I miss him too. He was cool, until he switched to a different bus.

I don't miss many people, because I wound up hating the two I spent the most time with, but I do miss the general feel socialization used to give me.

This hasn't done much for my ambiguously-not-over-my-ex limbo, either.

I can't fathom why all of this brought tears to my eyes. Things are just so different, in such trivial ways.

Couldn't even go to class this morning. Going to force myself to go in the afternoon. Is my depression getting worse or am i just having a bad spell? Do i need more sleep? Do I just not have the motivation? Idfk

In a nutshell

Post by Rinoko »

I feel like a failure in Engineering. I feel like I'm not good enough to do this crap. I feel like I've been nothing but a disappointment to my parents as far as school goes for the past year. I feel like I'm going to get kicked out of school and live at my parent's house and have to work at KFC for the rest of my life to attempt to pay off my student loans. I feel like I've been completely miserable on and off for the past two and a half years. I feel like giving up. I feel like I want to be done.

Having some perspective to see the scope of your problems can be a very good thing, but remember that just because someone has worse problems than you doesn't mean you can't be sad about them. One problem doesn't diminish the importance of another one, especially if they're irrelevant to each other.

It's like saying to a kid "It doesn't matter that your parents don't pay attention to you, you're still better off than that kid starving on the streets." It might be a true statement, but it doesn't really help the first kid much; their situation still sucks.

Everyone has their own life and their own set of problems. You can learn from the experience of others, but comparing your life to someone else's too much can be unhealthy as well.

TLDR It's good that you have empathy for other people's problems, but don't think your own problems are made insignificant by comparison. If they're significant to you, they're significant.

Shit. I dont know what the rules in Canada are like ,but this seems like the kind of situation welfare is supposed to help with. You HAVE a job but they arent giving you any cheddar, which seems like that would fall under some sort of welfare rule

I'm not really properly over my last ex, and I'm definitely out of rebound, and there are people I'm interested in dating, but I'm too hesitant on account of wanting to figure things out with my ex first.

Oh joy.

Crisp makes me feel grateful that I have welfare at least while I work on getting myself out...

I come here whenever I want to feel better about myself. Because I know, that somewhere, somehow, no matter how hard I think I have it, that there is always someone who is worse off than I am. And not for a reason to sneer its not. But it stands to me as a good incentive to help myself out of the rut in my life that I feel Ive run into. :)

So, for all your depression, thank you for at least making someone elses day a little bit brighter ^w^
