Im guessing thats part of why he's sad
Re: Things that make you sad.
Well yeah obviously. I guess I'm just in disbelief at the timeline of events. Either way man sorry to hear that went down.
Or, y'know, whatever.
Re: Things that make you sad.
I can do one better than that, I hopped the plane three days ago.
It isn't looking like a rough break up, things just aren't really going as well as we'd hoped. Only being together for ten days, possibly in our entire lives, doesn't really leave a lot of room for going slow.

Re: Things that make you sad.
I was kind of reminded today that as much as I like college marching band, it still sucks that I don't really have that many friends in the entire band. I've tried talking to people in my section and whatnot, but I get the impression that I'm not very well-liked, and I have no idea why.

Re: Things that make you sad.
How big is your band? Ours is small enough that we are required to learn everyone's names.
Maybe introduce yourself to some new people. I doubt the folks in your section actually dislike you, they just don't really see you as part of the "clique", probably. And that could just be due to different interests, attitudes, etc. So maybe if you have a bigger band, there are some other folks in some other section/squad who might end up getting along with you really well.
Of course this is coming from the person who can't stand more than like 10 minutes of socializing, but the beginning of the year is a good excuse to introduce yourself to different folks. (I do it because I have to, but I do actually enjoy knowing everyone despite the effort)

Re: Things that make you sad.
We have somewhere around 300 people in our band, 38(?) of which are trumpets(my section). I know all of the old members, and they know me, but we almost never interact, not for lack of trying on my part. People will deny it, I'm sure, but even the girl who was bodaciously THE FRIENDLIEST PERSON TO EVERYONE IN THE BAND barely spared me three words per year. At least it's better than last year, when I wasn't even invited to join the trumpet section's Facebook page.
I just
I don't get it.
As far as meeting new people outside my section, that's kind of tough because we don't get much time to hang around and chat before rehearsal. Two of the three people I know outside my section are in my major, and the other one I just happened to overhear talking about one of my favorite sports teams at a basketball game.
Sorry for being a downer, but I'm just telling it like it is.

Time to leave England tomorrow
It's been fun
A bit disappointing and at times sad, but fun
