Have you had any complaints? You know, beyond the way kids always complain? If not, youre probably atleast adequateZanoushe wrote:I'm constantly worried that I'm terrible at my summer job (camp counselor) and am ruining these kids' summers.

Unless you're holding some sort of totalitarian rule over them they're probably at least indifferent, if they don't actually like you.Zanoushe wrote:I'm constantly worried that I'm terrible at my summer job (camp counselor) and am ruining these kids' summers.

I think I'll end up hating my parents if they continue this way.
I'm going to spend my holidays working while they're in Spain, and they demand that I meet them there EVERY FREAKING WEEKEND !
(Granted I don't live VERY far from Spain, but it's still 500 km [310 miles] every Friday and Sunday)
@Zanoushe : overthrow the boss and institute an utopia where children have voting rights about the activities.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing fine at it, but this is the first paying job I've ever had (well, I worked there last summer too), so I'm slightly paranoid.

Best birthday wishes in these hard times, Runes. I can't imagine what you're going through and I hope a little happiness comes your way. You deserve it.

Sometimes you really dont know what to respond other than generic "sorry for your loss/pain/face cancer"Cynical Slob wrote:Man, I'm so bummed people always talk about whats going on with them in this thread and nobody responds

I care about people's problems. It's just that I usually don't have anything to add or I don't think I can say anything helpful at the moment. Sometimes people just wanna vent here, response or not, and that's fine too.

Hit with a huge wave of loneliness today.
So bad I just want to lay in my bed and cry all night. Don't really know why.

Same here. I urgently need someone to hug me, or I'll end up freezing in my loneliness ...

Way minor, but the kittens are crying because I never went in to bed. ;A;

Yeah, I totally know what you mean. One of the worst experiences I've had IRL was when a friend's dad died, and I couldn't think of anything to say apart from "Gee I'm really sorry that happened." It was weird because I lost my dad from the same cause, but it was at a different period of my life and it's really hard, I've found, to not sound condescending or pretentious when you try and console someoneTheStranger wrote:Sometimes you really dont know what to respond other than generic "sorry for your loss/pain/face cancer"Cynical Slob wrote:Man, I'm so bummed people always talk about whats going on with them in this thread and nobody responds

Re: Things that make you sad.
You know, since this rough year has ended, I've been feeling a lot better - most days I start off with a baseline positive attitude instead of neutral or negative. However, I still have bad days where I get emotional over stupid things and feel terrible about myself. Today is one of those days.
