Also, spoiler tags don't count that much due to their overuse.

How'd all that stuff go down, if you don't mind my asking?
I got overwhelmed by work (most of it from English with a teacher I hated) and went into a downward spiral of not getting my shit together. I was going to a boarding school a couple hours away from home, too, so my room was a disaster area that wasn't getting any better. I became depressed and started sleeping late, since I had the worst class of the day—English—first. Eventually I had to leave. Though it's technically a medical absence, so I could go back at some point.
So yeah. Most of my friends were at my old school, and it's incredibly awkward to join a public high school halfway through junior year when you know people there and think they're assholes. It didn't help that the boarding school had classes that only went for half a year and my Physics teacher was teaching us astronomy. I decided that it would just be easier not to even bother with school again until next year.
Huh. It feels pretty good to get that off my chest to random people on the internet.

Ah I getcha
It does really sound like you got the short end of the stick with that stuff. I know full well how completely fucked up it can feel to get so far behind in particular classes, or beaten down by the whole high school experience, that it just becomes too much to deal with. I hope stuff works out for you, though. I'm sure you don't need anyone telling you this, but it's really good to get a high school education when all's said and done.

Yeah, I know. I'm planning to just get a fresh (well, fresh-ish) start again next year. Plus I'm doing an online physics thing, so I'm not wasting all of my time. Just most of it.

By applying for college and possibly getting a job soon, I feel like kind of drained.
It's just an effect of having been a slacker for so long but I just feel like I jumped into the deep end of the pool without knowing how to swim.

My lady friend wasn't online yesterday, and this morning she sent an email that sounded kind of aggressive to me? Or at least unusually defensive, about her not being online. It's not helping that we've hardly spoken all week, and that the situation is suddenly growing pretty similar to the end of my first relationship.
I know it's probably nothing, of course; I just can't help but feel anxious and upset until we have a chance to talk.

Just.......
I'm done.
im just gonna go cry and play vidya and maybe take a nap or bath or something

Recently in my area a man murdered his mom and stepdad because "he thought they were zombies."
Obviously this man is mentally unstable, but completely senseless loss of life like this does a lot to ruin what would otherwise be a good weekend.

So I've been mostly okay since my snake died. In part because I was able to forget about it (put it out of my mind) for awhile.
But today the people who were preserving his skin called for me to come get him.
As I picked it up and held it, I realized that I was now holding my snake again, only he wasn't really there.
This wave of sadness hit me that I wasn't really prepared for at all.

Um... sorry if this sounds callous, but why did you preserve his skin? Thats kind of a grim momento

Because he was so pretty. It felt like a waste to just... stick him in the ground and walk away. Knowing that I could preserve his beauty somehow just made it seem like the right thing to do.
I can see how it might seem grim. I'm not entirely sure that in the long run I'll still agree with it. But I have it now, and touching it is making me sad.

Eh, better than having him stuffed I guess. You know, you could turn his skin into a bracelet or something, that way it'll always be with you AND seem less creepy than just, like, having it framed or something

Well, a lot of snake owners keep shed skin. I know my sister keeps her snake's in a shoebox. Snake skin can be really beautiful, and of course it has sentimental value for you, Shiny dude.
I don't see why you shouldn't keep it. It's a wonderful memento of a creature whose memory you hold dear.
This'll sound lame after that, but I'm sad that my lady friend is going to be away until next week.
