I went with IndieGoGo because they have the Flexible Funding option, meaning, even if I don't reach my goal by the deadline, I still get the donations I received, whereas with Kickstarter if you do not reach that goal you get nothing.

Why the preference?

With Kickstarter the cheddar goes to the person at the end of the funding period. IndieGoGo pays out the cheddar as it goes in. That seems risky to me.
