speaking of royalty, what do foreigners (e.g americans, canadians etc) think of the royal family? I assume that some more opinions have been stirred up because of the recent wedding

The royal wedding was a pretty big deal around here, but it was mostly because of all the girls wanting to see a royal fantasy wedding and wishing they were princesses. We don't really know much about the royal family themselves.

Dislike the monarchy, but not the people themselves. It's a symbol of an archaic system that has no relevance in a modern world. When everyone was talking about the royal wedding the only thing I had to mention on it was how stupid those hats were. Especially the vagina hat.

I don't actually understand what the Royal Family does.

I don't have any known British ancestry.
And the royal wedding was...well, to me, it was just a wedding by fancy, rich people. It doesn't hold much sway over things, so I kind of agree with Medican there.

What's the deal with the BRIT awards? Do they actually mean anything or is it just an attempt to have a British only award show? Do people get all hyped up about it? I only ask because one of my favorite female musicians is nominated for best solo artist, so it made me curious since I never paid much attention to them before, or any music award ceremony for that matter.

I'm a direct descendent of Dr. Livingstone.

In response to Canadians on the Royal Family:
Ontario and the the Atlantic provinces (that aren't Quebec) think that the Queen is pretty great from my general knowledge.

Has there ever been talk of changing government systems? From a monarchy to something else?
