Also, have you considered the fact that the mafia can lie and pretend to be the cop?

Why do you think I just said the idea of opening the time for a counter-claim. If someone claims cop and is mafia, the real cop can step up and say they are the cop. Then we discuss what the 'cops' have found and make a decision from there.

Btw, it's pretty easy for the hooker to stop the doctor, (s)he can switch targets every night until someone does die. I am left wondering why the Doctor didn't save the first villager though.

It's easy to kill the doctor if they guess right who the doctor is. And the doctor doesn't know who dies every night, his choice is random :\

Fine, it seems I can't convince you and that you have the majority on your side. I think this strategy is coinflippy at best and defeats the purpose of the game, which is to psychologically analyze each player's playstyle. Regardless, we'll see how this plays out.

I don't think you get how the doctor works. He doesn't choose whether or not to save whoever dies. He chooses a person, and that person can't die that night.

@Syobon: As somepartsareme said, that's not how the doctor works. The doctor chooses a person during the night and if the mafia/vigilante try and kill that person, they live. And the 'psychological' aspect of this game you're searching for comes much later. If you can scum hunt successfully on the first turn then the mafia is clearly awful or bodaciously posted "i'm the mafia"
