Re: RP: The Awkward Warriors
You sling the giant cutlass you won around your back and leave the barrel of rum where it is. You figure if you're gonna get more booze then you may as well keep a stockpile of it. You peer into the depths of the vessel and then search around for a way to get down. You spy a coiled rope in the corner and a rusted hatch. One half of the hull is busted apart, leaving a gaping hole that would be perfect to shimmy down with the rope, but you're sure you could pry open the hatch if you tried. How do you proceed?

Re: RP: The Awkward Warriors
In an attempt to be as manly as you can be, you take the coil of rope and tie it down to one of the docking hammers on the side of the ship, and then descend as quickly as you can. As you near the hold of the ship, it begins to smell more and more of salt and old ale. It's also darker than the surface, with spotlights of sunlight shining through the holes in the hull. Dusting off your jacket, you acquaint your eyes to the darkness. You are standing on the dry portion, but you can hear the sloshing of water on the other, darker side of the ship's hold. Where to from here?

Since I notice Blitz has been posting, he can take over whenever he feels like it
You start wading into the drink, but it only comes up to about waist-high. You figure you'd probably flip that rotten table on the side of the hold if you got your hat wet. Wait a second, that's more than just a table, looks like a few more of those sailors are getting drunk. Honestly you don't know how you managed to miss them. Though they seem to be passed out for the moment, you might want to keep your distance anyway. A pirate with a hangover is not a good thing to be around. You can continue to wade around and hope you stumble across some loot, or you can be completely surely safe and see about taking out the pirates. Or you could just do whatever the hell you feel like. What's it gonna be?

Re: RP: The Awkward Warriors
You decide to err on the side of caution and move away from the passed out pirates in search of their treasure. As you wade along, you peel your eyes through the murky water to see if anything stands out, but so far there's no luck. However, as you make your way through, you misjudge the bottom and your foot comes crashing down on something that feels pretty heavy. You let out a swear, since slapping your foot against something like that tends to hurt, and then immediately remember the pirates just across the way.
>The outcome of your roll determines how loud your swear was, and whether it wakes up the pirates or not, with high roll being the desired outcome.

Mother always said, if you're gonna swear, do it so nobody important will hear ya.

You give the heavy object a nice plethora of verbal abuse enough to make even a (drunk, passed out) sailor blush. But you do it smartly, under your breath but loud enough to get your point across to that stupid object. Speaking of which what was it? Do you examine the thing or keep going?

Nah. Couldn't tell at all.
I swear to the gods, if I have to roll a Search check.

You kneel down, keeping your head above the water, and start feeling around the thing with your hands. Just from touching it, you can tell it's made of old wood, slightly spongy from the time its been submerged. On continued search, you find with a start a band of rusted metal binding the wood together, and on the sides are chipped iron handles. You've found yourself a chest! You move to one side and start pulling that sucker out the side of the drink, and then let it rest on the dry side of the hold. However, the pirates have already awoken and the scraping of the chest has caught their attention. They're coming towards you, gotta think quick!

Re: RP: The Awkward Warriors
If you've learned anything when dealing with pirates it's that you break face first, ask questions later. Readying your fisticuffs, you take a swing at the nearest pirate's jaw when he's close enough. The buccaneer staggers back a little and recovers from the jaw punch, but his mateys are already on your tail, they've both drawn their sabers and are grinning maliciously. "Yer outnumbered, boyo." one of them growls, as the other lets out a hearty seaman's laugh as he swings his sword mightily.
