these people offend me on every level it takes to be offended

the second you start denying that anything is wrong with your craft, is the second it stops being a craft, and starts being a waste of your and everyone else's time

Oh it's Kitchen Nightmares. They'll be gone soon enough. Vast majority of the restaurants featured on that show fail. Chef Ramsay is just not good at helping people.

Much prefer to watch Restaurant Impossible with Chef Robert. Still brusque but he makes a genuine effort to help those kind of people and show why their attitudes are toxic. Most of his show's restaurants are still open.

I don't think he would've been able to help those people even if he wanted to.

Got a potato bakin' in the oven. I was really paranoid about it exploding so I probably poked way more holes in it than i needed to, lol.

The idea of exploding potatoes terrifies me, though.

Watch some cooking challenge shows if you want to get ideas. Stuff like Chopped on Food Network, since it forces the chefs to make a dish that utilizes four random ingredients. Things like dragon fruit, rambatans, kaisershmarm (I have no idea how to spell it), hot dogs, saffron, bacon popcorn, Goldfish crackers, etc.

You get to see a whole lot of creativity in the dishes, and it may help you get some ideas of your own in addition to learning about the ingredients.

I actually pickked up a lot from Man Vs Food. Not the quantities obviously, but a lot of the cooking techniques and ideas.
