Uh, if you need the knife to get you out of trouble then maybe you should stop being that much of a dickhole before you discover that you brought a knife to a gunfight.

My blades



Not a very impressive collection, to be sure, but I will be getting more once I can afford it.

The shortsword was bought for my RenFest costume last year and the only reason I didn't get a bigger one is price, but this one feels good in my hands and is still quite pretty. I can wear it on my hip and only hit half the people I normally would!


The dagger/knife (it's a bit of an odd length, so I'm not really sure what it is,) was given to me by my great grandfather and I have no idea how old it is. Unlike the sword which has a false edge this one actually has an edge to it, though it's very dull. Could probably cut a sandwich with it but not much more. The scabbard is entirely metal except for the very small part that is wood.



And not pictured is Tuxedo Mask's shitty-booty claymore that his friend gave him. It's huge and heavy and impressive but it's stuck in the scabbard and takes two people to unsheath it. The metal bit on the tip of the scabbard (the chape?) is loose and coming off.

He's also got a set of three Japanese swords. The standard black/silver katana/wakizashi/kodachi combo with false edges and cheap scabbards. Also a wooden katana that I (lightly) whack at him and he fails to catch the Toradora reference.

He seems to have a penchant for cheap swords.

The dagger's just a dagger as far as I can tell. No special name.

I know, I know, I try to repress my snarky arsehole genetics.

I only like blades I can use. That means no replicas, and I have to pay a good chunk of cheddar to get anything.

Word to the shoppers: always check the materials and match them to your use. combat knives and swords should be harder metals, and tools like machete's and hunting knives should be softer metals for easy sharpening.

This is my collection of sharp things. Yay!

Here is my red katana. Fake blade, and the handle regularly becomes slightly unwoven, but I like it anyways.

Here's my (shitty) replica of "Black Mamba's" Hanzo katana from Kill Bill. Crappy remake and it's got a fake blade but even still, I love it. Both these katanas have fake blades, but are very sharp at the end, so yeah.

This here is a dumb anime sword from Bleach. It belongs to Haribel, the third Espada in the show/manga (if anyone follows it)
Unlike the other two swords, this thing could do considerable damage, and has a decent edge. Then again, any hunk of metal attached to a handle is bound to do some damage, yeah?

This is the first weapon I ever bought myself. It's a fake khukuri knife that I sharpened to have a fairly decent edge. It came with two smaller knives (seen in between my fingers) that were already pretty sharp.

Here is one of two knives that I got from my now deceased great uncle. One of my favorite possessions because it has a lot of history attached. It was used in both world wars, and to this day it is sharp as a motherfucker. Also yeah the end of the grip is an eagle head. Quite boss I say. It has a quote on the blade in spanish that I have not yet translated for whatever reason. It says "El que es percio donde quiera es verde." Took me a loooong time to polish this thing. The blade was basically black when it found its way to me.

Here is a survival knife I bought at a local antique shop. The handle has a compas on the end, and it twists off to reveal a hollow space with some fish hooks, fishing wire, matches, and a small piece of old paper inside of it. I don't think the person who sold it to me had any clue that stuff was in there. The paper was torn from a tiny copy of the bible. The reading is from Exodus and I am not going to bother copying it out. I found this to be quite cool, mind you.

This is a knife I got from my cousin, and is the sharpest knife of all of them. Very light and very good for cutting things quickly. I use it when hiking and junk.

And finally my pocket knife. I use this when walking around and stuff in case shit gets real. I am weird and call it "Fall of Troy." Mostly because I refer to it as my "Troy knife" (which is the city I live in.)

It's kind of an offence to carry a knife on your person out in public in the UK.

Well yeah it's the same deal here I think

But I'd rather have it and just keep it hidden than not have it at all I guess.
