I feel like this almost all the time when I'm around human beings, but the brief glimpse of an animal - even something like a tiny ant, spider or bumblebee - immediately and involuntarily brings a smile to my face as a flicker of happiness creeps into my soul.

I don't have any problems with being around people, but I find I get more interested when there's some some sort of animal about. I can stand/sit there for ages just watching them. Like one time I went to the kitchen to get something to eat, and there was an enormous crane fly just chilling on the cupboard. Instead of swatting it away/squashing it like most other people in my position would have done, I just stood there and watched it for a while, just kind of observing it and all the little details on it.

Yeah, it's not so much having a problem with being around people, It's more like a general disinterest in them.

I could give you a metaphor I suppose:

You drop a glass - it is going to hit the floor - this is inevitable.

Will the glass break when it hits the floor or will it remain intact?

The floor is made of stone - it's most likely it will break.

The floor is made of wood - it's possible it will bounce.


It's a tricky one.

A. The floor material isn't really a wild card. It's not like there's a chance it could be stone and a chance it could be wood. It's one or the other.

B. If you knew exactly every piece of physical information about the situation, you could say with 100% accuracy whether or not the glass would break.

Yeah, it's difficult to communicate what I was trying to say; Like I said fate and destiny probably aren't the ideal words I could've used but you chose to focus in on the literal instead of the abstract.
