There have been times that I've wondered if it would almost be a relief if my mother and stepfather were to die in some sort of accident (painless, of course) so that I would then receive custody of my brother and be able to leave my mother's household without worrying about leaving Garret behind with them. And quite frankly, I tend to like my mother more when she's not around. I mean, I love her because she's my mother, so obviously I feel guilty about this, but I still wonder sometimes.
