man I listen to Christian radio on my way home from work a lot since it's a political talk show and a lot of times they say stupid shit that I can laugh at

today was pure schadenfreude

Surprisingly apt comparison. Its awkward, pathetic and everyone else hates you.

So the Zimmerman Trial Defense attorney used a Knock Knock joke for his opening statement.

Because you can't have a murder trial without shitty, shitty comedy.

And the other lawyer used ham-handed dramatic acting that was so cheesy it needed wine while ignoring actual facts.

This is the American justice system.

Both sides have solid evidence I feel. Regardless of all of this fluff and controversy and idiotic acting, I have a feeling this should be one helluva trial.

Interesting to see the backlash from either side if one or the other prevails.

From what I've seen the prosecution has little to no actual evidence. The phone calls they claimed were Martin screaming are barred from the court because none of the experts, not even Martin's own father, could determine whose voice it was. The prosecution is trying to paint Zimmerman as deliberately and willfully murdering someone in cold blood with Martin having done nothing.

Meanwhile Zimmerman has medical records, police testimony, and witnesses that say he had injuries consistent with his story of being slammed on the sidewalk by Martin. I do believe that much. Whether it was sufficient cause to draw and fire the gun was another thing.

That's all I care about with cases like these, just the facts.

Eh, is hamming it up really so bad? Trials might as well be dramatic rather than boring.

You seem to be confusing a court of law, designed to determine a person's culpability in another one's DEATH, as a television show that needs to entertain.

There are times and places for jokes and ham, and a courtroom is not one of them.
