Alright. I heard there were a ton of storm chasers and shit last around last night. There was a lot of rain and lightning, but maybe one tornado?

North Korea is """"""subtly"""""" hinting they will soon fire a missile. They said the have "powerful striking means" on standby. Seoul and Washington theorize they are planning to fire/test fire missile(s) at Guam.
The reason this is a likely time for NK to attack is that they are in the middle of a slew of anniversary celebrations that lead up to the commemoration of the 101st birthday of the country founder on Monday.
Also if anyone here reads the science thread, there was a solar flare today. Not a big, apocalyptic one, just a mid-range one that fizzled with radios for a bit.

If anything serious happens america will kick north korea in the face, hold them down and shit in their face. I be the jingoism will fizzle away after a half baked launch.

We all know that the US would absolutely crush NK, the point is how many casualties would be suffered both sides (talking specifically SK and NK) before the war ends.

Just because they can doesn't mean they will.

North Korea and China have a defense pact. I think Russia does, too.
China is trying everything they can to get out of it, but the chance they'll break it without a legal loophole is low.

I think "No you're because you're fucking crazy." Is a good reason to get out of it.

Even if you did get the shot, unless it was the shot FOR the specific strain of bird flu then it likely wouldn't make a difference.

Yeah, not to mention the controversy surrounding the flu shots that were circulated during one of the crises, that caused a few deaths. Oh, and the regular flu kills a thousand times more people every year than these strains of flu did.

As of late there haven't been any impressive special-strain flu outbreaks, really. The only reason swine flu was a big deal in 2009 is because it was the same strain (H1N1, mutated) as the Spanish Flu, I believe.
THe seasonal flu usually has a death rate of less than .1%, swine flu was barely anything better (worse?) at .3%.

I think they later found that swine flu lasted a lot longer outside of the body before denaturing and was a lot more contagious (longer contagious period without major symptoms), which is probably why the death rates were a littttle higher, but also why a good number of people caught it.
Though, I'm sure a number of them did it to themselves with the media frenzy surrounding it. When the first wave of Swine Flu was around here, they wouldn't even test you for it because they ran out of tests with all of the people claiming their "kinda sorta dry throat" was Swine Flu.
Funnily enough, I caught Swine Flu the year after its big hubub. It kinda kicked my booty, but other than being lethargic for fucking ever, it really wasn't that bad.
