Eh, atleast he's trying. Still, I withhold my judgement until I see how he handles the church's corruption

He seems ok and there were certainly much worse candidates they could have picked. The problem is there are rumours he supported a dictorial regime or something a couple decades ago, I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

From what I've heard he's also a Jesuit, which is one of the denominations that values critical thinking about everything instead of blind acceptance. They're scientists, teachers, philosophers, etc.

He also says that gay marriage is destroying God's law and women aren't fit for political office, but you know. Same old, same old.

Good to know that even the progressive ones are still dickheads

Actually that quote had only been reported on a Yahoo article in 2007 before reappearing now that he's pope so it's likely false

pope on a rope

Signs are pointing towards North Korea launching a missile sometime this week. They've advised the countries with embassies in NK to leave before Wednesday, as they won't be able to guarantee protection after that. Also, apparently missiles have been moved within range of Guam.

Aren't North Korea's best missiles only barely able to reach Guam?

Guam is still US territory, if it hits (which, as Malum said, is unlikely because they are so outdated it's sort of adorable) there will most likely be another war. If they shoot South Korea, there will be a war. If the missile lands ANYWHERE except ocean there will be a war. Hell, if they fire one at anybody intentionally and it misses, there will probably be SOME sort of response to them declaring how dangerously incompetent they are, likely a war/invasion to put someone sane in charge, if the US response to these sorts of things in the last several years is anything to reference.

This is all speculation, though.

My grandparents are talking like the US should arrange an assassination on KJU. Its hard trying to explain that we shouldn't be world police no matter how you feel.

I'm thinking the probability of that already being in the works is a number between 0 and 2.

We still shouldn't try to police the world

In this case, I'm pretty sure the world wouldn't mind. Which doesn't happen often.
